You should check out the new character, Ara. Sakra Devanam is her melee job where she uses skill cancels, it’s very fun and mashy. Yama Raja is her magic job, it isn’t out on NA yet, but it has some of the same skill canceling aspects with enhanced range and magical damage.
Otherwise, I guess you could try Rena (Wind Sneaker) who fights hand-to-hand and buffs her allies, or Aisha (Elemental Master/Void Princess) who fills the screen with meteors and such.
Follow Celerity’s advice on matching a character closest to those classes. If you need help getting used to the game’s mechanics, or just want someone to play with, hit me up.
I played for like 20 minutes yesterday. I feel like I’m just mashing buttons lol. I imagine this game is better when you level up higher. Do I want to grind that is the question.
The game’s a bit deeper than just mashing buttons, lol. At high level play, for example, combos involve move sequences constructed through mathematical calculations to get the most out of Elsword’s unique “Knockdown” (or “KD”) system. Not that you have to do that, but it helps get the most damage out of your combos.
Also yes, the game gets a lot better in high level play. The early levels are pretty cruise control, but the game will eventually demand that you play smart and use your best twitch reflexes. Stuff like that kicks in once you get to the Velder segment of dungeons, which is in the mid-to-high level 40s.
You have Skype, right? If you’d like, we can add each other and I can show you the ropes. PM me if you want to.
I think I still have all of you guys on my Skype account. I will hit you guys up when I start playing again. I’ve been playing Call of Duty a lot more these days lol.
I know it is rude to compare games but the one thing is like about DFO was the sprites reminded me of old school Final Fight. Elsword reminds me of FF7 characters, I can’t help that I’m looking at a bunch of Cloud Strife’s lol. Once I reach a decent level, I will get of hold of you Drive.
I remember that we did add each other, but idr what your Skype name was. I did some cleaning out with my contacts list a while back, so I’m not sure if you were one of ones removed due to a lack of contact.
Meh, the look doesn’t really bother me, lol. I like both DFO’s old-school sprite style and Elsword’s clean and colorful 3D models. Besides, I’ve been around anime long enough to get used to the looks.
You don’t have to get to a decent level to party up with me, Ves. Unlike DFO, anyone can be in your party no matter what their level. Besides, the sooner I can teach you how to play, the better.
SRK is having its 1-Year Guild Anniversary! To celebrate how far we’ve come, we’re going to host a Pole-to-Pole Race as an event for the whole guild to participate in! Below is the description of the event, along with the rules and the prizes being given out. Hope you all have fun and continue supporting the SRK guild with us into the future!
Pole-to-Pole Race:
A race between 4-person parties, starting from Ruben and ending in Sander, going through fields and villages alike, hand off a “pole” to each other by touching the other waiting player in an assigned village. The “Racer” - the player that has the pole and hands it off - must stop and give it to the “Waiter” - the player that waits for the Racer and receives the pole to continue the race - until the last player makes it to the very end of the last Sander field, Behemoth Crater. The team that does this the fastest wins.
Each person in a 4-player team, 1 Moderator included, goes through villages and fields alike to meet the next player and hand off the pole. It goes in this order:
1st: Start - Beginning of Ruben Village, End - Beginning of Altera Village
2nd: Start - Beginning of Altera Village, End - Beginning of Hamel Village
3rd: Start - Beginning of Hamel Village, End - End of Behemoth Crater
The races will be held in Channel 5.
Moderators accompany the Racers as they go. Mods can either be the GM, an Admin, or an Officer. They serve to ONLY watch over the players and make sure no one is cheating or disobeying rules. Mods who help the players in any way disqualify their assigned team.
Waiters must wait exactly at the beginning of their assigned village. Racers must touch the waiting player at that area for the Waiter to become the Racer. Handing off the pole anywhere away from the village’s entry area results in disqualification.
Moderators must call out a number as soon as a Racer begins their mark. “1” for the first Ruben racer, “2” for the Altera racer, and “3” for the Hamel racer. Once a team finishes their race, the Moderator must then call out “Z” to signify their finish.
Mods MUST call out “Z” or “z” to officially signify the team has finished. Players who exclaim that they have finished will be ignored.
Mounts are not allowed. Any use of a mount results in instant disqualification.
Potions or drops that increase speed are not allowed. Use of these results in disqualification.
Spring stepping or natural moves/skills that help you proceed faster are allowed. Sockets that increase movement speed are also allowed.
MP recovery items cannot be used. Use of MP recovs results in disqualification. Use the MP you have wisely.
Cobo Express cannot be used. It’s a race, not a series of loading screens.
It is the Moderator’s responsibility to keep up with the players, so Moderators are free to use anything necessary to stay next to the Racers.
Players are free to bring any character to the race, but Moderators must use a character in the SRK guild to communicate through the guild chat.
Moderators giving false information for their assigned team will disqualify their team.
Players or Moderators disconnecting from the game mid-race will result in the race starting over.
Prizes:
1st - 10 mil ED to each member of the winning team, plus 20 El Shards of their choosing.
2nd - 5 mil ED to each member of the teams, along with 10 Lvl. 6 Weapon & Armor Enhancement stones.
3rd - 1 mil ED to each member of the teams, along with 10 Blessed Armor Enhancement stones.
Prizes will be given out in the Altera resting area, Ponggo’s Hideout, in the same channel as the races.
I just reinstalled this game to check out what was up. Its been over a year or so. One thing i noticed was that the skill notes that i had picked up were all wiped it seems. Do they really expect me to shop/quest for them again? Its definitely a bit discouraging. Anyways I would be interested in joining the SRK guild if there’s room.
The skill notes were actually revamped some time back, and players had to see an NPC to trade them in for the new ones during an event. The event has long passed, though, and I honestly have no idea if you’re still able to exchange them. Talk to the NPCs in town and see if you have any luck.
There’s still a lot of room for people to join, but you didn’t really give me a time of when you’d be on, so idk when I’d be able to invite you. If you could, specify when you’ll be on so I may invite your character.
Apologies, I didn’t see your message until just now. I’ll take note of when you posted this message, though, so I can add you during that time tomorrow.
Great game! But so so soooooooo grindy! I’m level 65 Elesis and I haven’t yet spent ONE PENNY on the game, so it’s definitely possible to max out your character without paying anything. Just gets tedious having to run the same dungeon and fields a gazillion times. Love the graphics to bits and the combat is super fun. Flashy moves and skills are a nice plus as well.
Now that DFO is coming back, I don’t expect to be playing Elsword that much but I can certainly say that I will not flatout stop playing it. Gonna continue to have fun with it as long as it’s available.
