Ubyte, I know you’re disappointed that we didn’t use a 360 setup. But please try to understand - it’s simply easier and more convenient for everyone when consoles/sticks are standardized. Keep in mind that the Davis/Munchies tourneys use 360 as well - I have a PS3 stick and my friend uses a PS3 controller. He doesn’t play in it as a result. It’s just a fact of life. Look it at from my point of view; I want to run this tourney as smoothly as possible. What if, by some freakishly strange chance, we have two PS3 setups, and everyone brings 360 sticks (or vice versa) because people thought there’d only be one type of setup? People wouldn’t like it, and it’d be an inconvenience to everyone - including Howard (the owner of the place). It’s not likely, I know - but you can’t discount the possibility, no matter how unlikely it seems. Standardization is the way to go. It’s already hard enough when TVs lag, sticks break, etc.

Look on the brightside - the situation turned out as such where you were forced to learned on sticks. Please take everyone’s advice - THE STICK WILL BE BETTER FOR YOU. Think of it as a catalyst to better your gameplay!

Right after I got your name down :. Thanks a lot for coming out… don’t stop playing! Good luck in life, man… hope to see you at all major tourneys!

The City. I can personally vouch for the tastiness of their pesto chicken wrap - and lots of people from the thread have purchased food/drinks, too. Try asking them if you have a specific question about an item.

Wish I could tell you something helpful… hm, you’re using HDMI with that 42 inch, right? As I understand, if ANY upscaling is going on, there’s going to be some lag. Any lag pros able to answer this question?

Don’t feel bad, they’re really good players. I especially can’t deal with Korea :[. Coincidentally, all the Korean players I’ve played in any fighting game have beaten me down really hard…

Hey Tyram. Check the first page of the thread. I heard you never turn down money matches… when you roll by (or if/when I go to Munchies), you wanna rock paper scissors money match?! $20 dollars a set! Let’s do it???

That’s wat I thought but the weird part is dat da tvs at da turney feel lagy n slower nt my tvs.ill jus practice my links therw next time to get da speed difernce

until i get a job elsewhere i’ll be right next to the monthly fuddruckers tourneys ^^

Heh cool. I plan on going to Fuddruckers every now and then.

Pieguy add me on PSN Fusion916 I want to pratice vs your honda.

I see you’re point Romeo, and I understand. And I’m not mad at you or anyone as a matter of fact. I’m a guy who doesn’t like to lose. And when I’m not able to play at my best for reasons beyond my control it’s frustrating. When I played you, I was up against a character that I was weak against, with a control setup I wasn’t very familiar with. I also think that a 360 would play lagless on the big screen, and I think that others in the know will attest to that. But don’t take my attitude personal, I just hate losing, especially in that way.

Oh and Leoncio, the Buffalo Chicken Wrap is heavenly.

And one more thing Romeo, I think the more important thing is to have dedicated sticks rather than dedicated setups but I guess the flaw in that logic would be the guarantee that we have at least two stick for every setup. But I think there are more than enough players with sticks on either system to lend. Myself being one, but I guess we can’t always rely on the community either… Stuff comes up… Just thinking out loud here, don’t mind me.

the problem with that is that not everyone uses TE stick (or even sticks for that matter).

another problem that arises are the modded te sticks. people move their buttons, or have different stick-tops, which may or may not affect the player, but it definitely makes the player blame the stick if they lose.

I’m one of those people who doesn’t use sticks actually, thats why I’d like to use the 360 version. But if we were to be more standardized like Romeo says. We would be using either pads or te sticks. Switching out personal te sticks is inefficient, even more so than two different consoles. So my thing was that if we used dedicated sticks we wouldnt need to worry about what systems we used… Thus giving the pad users like myself a chance.

I have a basic TE stick to share…

It takes one second to switch out te sticks. it takes longer to sync your wireless xbox controller and desync it than it does for a stick player to get his business done.

wouldn’t having a dedicated stick actually give a pad user less of a chance?

Ubyte, I don’t mean to sound like we’re picking on you, but your logic doesn’t make much sense. The main reason - the MAIN reason - that people use sticks is because more people generally find it easier to play with sticks vs controllers, usually after they get past the learning curve. This is why everyone here is telling you to start playing on a stick. Also, this is why people even bring their sticks in the first place; they are ensuring that whatever they’re using is standardized in THEIR case (case as in situation, not like a… stick case o_o). Of course it is standardized on a per player basis, because they would be using the stick that they have always been using, provided they brought their own stick. Also, this is why people usually mod their stick - because they like the feel better, they play better, etc. I swear by a square gate and Japanese parts, but Jack prefers a circle gate and American parts. I once used his stick and didn’t like it too much, which is why I bring my own stick whenever there’s some sort of gathering. I want to use MY stick - it’s what I’m used to. It’s a matter of preference.

Now, again, to preference. You say you prefer to use your 360 controller, which is just fine. The problem is we use PS3s. If you REALLY REALLY REALLY wanted to use your 360 controller, you could probably find a way to make it work on PS3 - it’d probably be REALLY difficult though. But we’re telling you that in the long run, it’ll make things easier for YOU to stick with the stick. You’ll always be able to play on someone’s TE at ANY tourney (360 and PS3 AND PC in the future), AND you’ll have the benefit of your moves coming out easier and more consistently (given you put practice time in). Sure, of course it’s easier for us too for you to just play on the PS3 sticks - but the reason why we’re having this discussion in the first place is because you’re talking about how it’d be better to have 360 setups, why we should have dedicated sticks instead of consoles, etc. The thing that I mainly meant when I said “we should have everything standardized” was the consoles. I didn’t mean the sticks, too - it’s almost a given that sticks will NOT be provided, because it’s generally assumed that if you’re serious about playing, you would already have a stick. Which is, again, exactly why there is almost always one stick per person at tourneys - because someone brought their own personal stick with the intention of using it. And about it not lagging on the big TV - I don’t think it’s a matter of the console. I’m no expert, but I’m sure the local experts would probably tell you it would be the same thing if we ran it on 360. Upscaling is upscaling, PS3 or 360 - we just need to find out if it’s the TV or the fact we’re not using a digital signal.

Again, we keep it one console so that people can anticipate and prepare for the tourney. Munchies is a 360 tourney, so I’m SOL in that regard - I only have a nonmodded PS3 TE. But at least I know, so I’m not all “WTF THIS IS BULLSHIT HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW?!” When it is standardized, it is usually easier for all parties involved - people will know what to bring just in case someone can’t make it (eg, Matt bringing his PS3 and TV last tourney - thanks, Matt), there’s less confusion, etc. Allen has a good point, too. And Mike(thxyoutoo) brings up another good point too. Also, what if we had 2 360s, and someone syncing their controller screwed up another person’s match? Besides, it really is just easier for the player that’s finished to unplug their stick, then the person that plays next plugs their stick in and sits. In any case, efficiency isn’t really the issue here either.

Ubyte, it sounds like you really, really, really want us to switch to 360s so you can use your pad. And I’m telling you right now, for the foreseeable future, it’s not happening. There is no good reason to switch.

Ok, thats I’ll just agree to disagree and let it go. Thanx for the explanation.

How late have these tourneys been running?
