Or focus hk RH ex scratch wheel etc she has alot of high damage high stun combos. If you learn them the MU imo is Elena if you watch the MU on YouTube with high level players Elena usually wins

what it’s your opinion in viper vs elena match up? what it’s the worst elena match up? the grapples? (t.hawk, gief, abel?)

@DaFeetLee can probably answer this but I think Cammy might be really bad

I counterpick Elena with Cammy for these reasons

  • Mallet Smash could potentially go over her because Cammy is smaller
  • Cammy is hard to anti air without meter
  • If Elena tries to do a drop kick, I punish it with Ultra 1
  • If the Elena player is a real idiot and does Healing while I’m awake I punish it with Ultra 1
  • If the Elena tries to build meter, I punish it with Ultra 1
  • Cammy’s neutral buttons are way better
  • st.HK beats a ton of Elena’s crap
  • cr.MP will cause mallet smash to miss or will stuff it
  • Cammy has a ton of anti air options against Elena

I’m not playing this match up at a high level but… yeah I can’t imagine it being a fun time for Elena.

Cammy is not a legit counter pick it’s a even matchup. The grapplers are 6 4 7 3 every one claims Elena is free to abel but I haven’t been beat by one yet. You can’t punish lk lynx tail with cammys U1 don’t spread wrong info

In the viper match you want to play neutral MID screen st mp hits burnkicks crouch lk low profiles burnkicks and mp thunder knuckle if you have the life lead do nothing build revenge and super meter

I’ve been doing some Elena MU research myself. Cammy is terrible; her air throw/DP force Elena to stay grounded, and her pressure is stronger than Elena can deal with. Rufus and Adon are also pretty bad because of how they can approach from the air and really put pressure on her.

Grapplers aren’t really bad, but DO NOT play against them like you would against a normal character. Rely on range and opportunity to beat a grappler with Elena, not overhead/low games.

Honestly, I don’t feel like Elena should be jumping at all, so the air throw isn’t a big deal for me. Pressure is kind of tough, though. I use st. LP to beat out predictable cannon strikes sometimes.

Dunno if anyone’s mentioned it in here, but here’s something I’ve been using for a long time now: j. HP almost always beats out Zangief’s Lariat cleanly regardless of the spacing.

Hi. I’m making a match-up post in a few character forums because I’m looking to run some sets. I’m a US, East Coast ER player. I don’t play ranked but I usually give or take in sets with players 3.3kpp to 4kpp for what it’s worth.

Elena gives me a bit of trouble when i run into a good one, so please add Dragon Metsu on 360 or DragonMetsu on ps4 (I say ps4 because I do not own a ps3 copy of the game). Feedback after the sets (win or lose) is appreciated.

Note on Elena vs Vega (Claw):

I’ve found, against his pokes (cr.LP and cr.MP), that cr.MK and cr.HK (sweep) do wonders. They beat more than trade, and the sweep often goes right under this attacks.
