Hah! This sucks, I finally find a good crowd of El Paso Fighters and none play the games I do (Kof 02, Garou: Mark of the wolves, 3s). Oh well, if yall are down to have another scrubalicious head at one of your get-togethers, itd be fun to finally learn GGXX#R and CvS2. Its better to have comp at a game you kinda like, then to have no comp on a game that you love. Playin Garou against the comps shitty.

EFZ is too damn cute to be as good as people say it is. Its nearly impossible for me to look past the bubbly goodness of the game to get into raw and chunky beef of the fighter. And Ive triedits just so horribly adorable.
LOL i agree. Well, these guys actually play 3S and are pretty damn good, it’s just assumed that 3s will be played at the get togethers. I own Garou, but I’ve never given it a chance. The fighting scene over here in Las Cruces consists of 4-5 players that never get together. Maybe I’ll try and learn it…I’m addicted to 3S though so no promises. :karate:

Well, the game is that good.
If you cannot get past the looks, that’s fine. But behind those bubbly looks there is a very deep and interesting fighter. But hey, I cannot force people to try it, just suggest it.

Yeah, SF3: Third Strike is pretty much a standard when youre talking about a group of 2d fighting game fans. But I only play this game casually; none of my old friends like this game because The characters are ghey or Parrying is cheap. Yeah, Ive been playing with hardcore scrubs all my life and only recently have I begun trying to better myself.
But if youre a fan of 3S you NEED to put some effort into Garou. The systems are very similar, but MOTW has a bit more balance (Boss characters being Mid to low mid Tier) but the trade-off is a much smaller cast. The game was made specifically by SNK to compete directly with SF3: Third Striketoo bad the majority of SNK fans ignored it for the newest addition of King of Fighters (99), and capcom fans continued to play the vs games /end rant
Yeah, I know all this. Ive been reading up on the EFZ thread damn near since the start of it. But dont get me wrong, Im not one of these nu-age gamers who gizz themselves over state-of-the-art graphics. However, while EFZ doesnt have bad graphics at ALL (I play ST, and Real Bout: FF2 as well. EFZ dont faze me), the animation style is a bit odd compared to the more popular of the genre. The fighting system, while spectacular, is sometimes overshadowed by some of the more adorable characters who nock you over the head with squeaky hammers, or attack you with a parade of stuffed animalsThat shit takes some getting used to.
But I feel your pain Vman. Ive been preaching to people about the greatness of Garou for a long time and dont nobody seem to give a damn. When you have an awesome game and no one wants to give you any comp it can piss you off.
Btw, I learned about EFZ because I was a big fan of the Kanon and Air anime’s. Cant remember the exact site I heard about it from. Anyway, the topic was eventually brought up here at SRK, and I finallyprocured a copy with one of the older updates.

I stopped trying to learn MVC2 a while back. I don’t have the manual dexterity to do those damn fly-unfly, or freaky ass infinities yet. Besides, I can’t find a DC copy down here for the life of me, and I’ll be damned if I buy anything else online.

hey we do play kof 02, i have the game for dc and luis, marcus, cristian, myself amd some other ppl from utep like ivan and his bro, and we sometimes pull of some cool stuff but since most of the geeks at utep play capcom games thats what we play the most but i guess we could even put kof on the dc whenever we get together to play but yeah, its mostly a game for beaners tho
