None of the people playing against Metroi’d Fuerte seemed to know the matchup… Plus they just didn’t seem all that great. Did that Akuma really have to eat so many U2s? Seemed like he could have jumped out of some, but if not, holy crap.
Took a long break but getting back into it. Hopefully this summer I can play with the DFW scene more often. Been warming up in vanilla and think I’ve improved but I was always awful so we’ll see if anybody notices haha – always had trouble with RSF back then but I picked it up pretty easily shortly after picking the game back up again. Going to pick up some new characters when Super hits but still want to main Fuerte. I made the mistake of relying on random online battles for getting better – only really learn bad habits that way, so I’m going to try and play mostly with local scene and known players online.
He was probably caught hitting buttons instead of being careful - I see Fuerte’s U2 like EZmode vanilla kara TU FADC ultra combo.
3 frames, completely invincible, huge ass damage, midscreen range. If you insist on hitting buttons on an unsafe block string, you’re eating that.
In other words, once Fuerte has ultra, now you have to treat Fuerte with ultra 2 just like how Sagat/Ryu was in old vanilla with 2 EX stocks and ultra.
so i played some more last night, i think cr rh hit box has been moved out more! seems like it reaches farther or his active frames are longer. i caught valle doing cr lk on my wake up and he got punished. im still trying to figure out wat kind of stuff this ultra can punish so i just throw the thing out all the time. now we know even light pokes on elfs wake up are dangerous.
cr.rh does seem better range wise, but I have been thrown out of it, so its still on a bit of the slow side.
Pretty much anything on elfs wakeup will get caught because no move has startup+recovery<3 frames. This doesnt take into account stuff that leaves the ground like srks, or as I found out last night Roses cl.hk
