El Fuerte's Learning Curve and Payoff

seen this thread in the C. Viper section, and I was thinking, is C. Viper really hasrder to master than El Fuerte? I mean yeah it’s harder to nail her combos than El Fuerte’s, but ELF’s not supposed to be a combo master to being with. His difficulty curve comes from his specials and how to use them effectively.

That said, how do you rate El Fuerte’s learning curve, and how do you rate the payoff once you “mastered” him in some way?

As for me, it’s like this:

Learning Curve: 9/10 - learning the RSF is definitely hard due to its weird timing, but once you get it, you got it. what makes him hard to master is the knowledge which move to use in certain situations because if you selected the wrong move, you’ll pay dearly.

Payoff: 6/10 - i don’t know, maybe it’s just that i still have a lot to learn, but I believe I’ve mastered ELF as my main a lot harder than my opponents mastered their main, yet I still lose. Maybe once i get the hang of which move to use in what, i’ll rate the payoff higher. But until then, he’s a work in progress and most of the payoff comes from him being a total crowd-pleaser to play as, and the assurance that he and my play will only be better for the months to come.

i think that there are a ton of things that still arent discovered with fuerte that make him pretty dangerous…and i think all in all fuerte will be a bit harder for ppl to master than viper not by a ton though more mental skill than phys. but they are (in my opinion) the top 2 of the very few characters in the game …besides a few others (like 2 more maybe?) … that take some insane skill… but fuerte and viper are definatly hardest…With fuerte i think there are some juggles ect. that we all as fuerte players should find and expose…Example: his super can juggle , far and close standing RH juggles … just to name a few … but i dont think anyone has tapped into what else there is with his juggles … im gonna search in training hardcore til i find somethin lol im determined =)

I would rate Fuerte with a high learning curve because of the mental requirement from the player in order to use him effectively. But there is a lot to learn with the luchador, dont underestimate his payoff as he can be very competitve at high level play. Check out the advanced combos thread made by Brainz on these forums, here is his youtube video for some very advanced combos and techniques that most fuerte users still cant perform well: credit to brainz of course

I think Viper is a bit harder to master but she can beast on anyone if played right. In general, I think Fuerte, Viper, Gen are the hardest 3 characters to master, but they all have good payoff as well.

I actually think Fuerte’s learning curve is not really linear.

From scratch, once you know his basic mix ups, you can demolish other beginner players quite easily, so you actually improve really fast for a bit. However, once you get past beginner level, that’s where simple tricks don’t work and you really have to know the ins and outs of everything. That’s where the learning curve is steeper than it is for any other character I feel.

Later on, at intermediate level is where you discover all new tricks, and you’ll suddenly go up a notch in skill again. After that jump though, it’s steep again all the way.

Payoff… In terms of effectiveness, there are times where I just feel like using easier characters because I get the same damage output for a lot simpler strategies. However, in terms of laughs, you get such a sense of fun landing all your nonsense that it’s all worth it.

Learning Curve: 8.5 he’s not as hard as viper, but he sure isn’t as easy as a shoto.

Payoff: 9/10 Depends on your mind reading abilities. I swear fuerte has the best mind fucking games in the game. too bad his wake up options suck. (ex back run, st. grab, n. jump, ex guac…)

i agree with the 9/10… since im still working on my RSF, keep getting a twitchy finger that taps jab too often because im worried he wont stop running.

Learning Curve?

With characters such as gen / c. viper in mind due to their demanding execution Fuerte is cake.

Fuerte is easily one of the easiest characters to play.

If you want to learn Fuerte you go to the ELF dojo and learn cross up splash and safe tortillia as day one stuff.

stay a little longer and learn RSF.

Take a little more time and get your PH.D. in Fuerte by learning C.mk loop and similar moves.

How hard is it to learn Fuerte you may ask? Not very hard.

3/10 imho

All you do is wake up games, RSF and try to not get hit.

I think fuerte is hard 2 learn.
I’ve been playing him for a year already…and it took me 3 months 2 get 2 hits of the RSF and slide…
and like 2 months after that I got the hang of it and I started getting more…
and I also play viper…and I must say…she is pretty difficult…to get her seismo chain…and to get her BK to be a cross-up…and then to do c.hp into ultra…

ii think their the hardest characters in the game…

P.S.
I think Sakura is hard 2

To do basic stuff with him is very easy, but to really be good with him on a tourny level is very hard, not in terms of execution but in terms of the amount of mental concetration you need. IMO, I would say Viper, followed by Gen, and then Fuerte are the hardest to learn.
