I got more vids of fuerte, nothing really new except, cr.mp+OS tech is good against divekick characters now. I tried it out against a Yun I believe and it did pretty good.

also Yun and Yangs hitbox is annoying. They’re reel back motion is too far.
The matchup isnt too bad, im yet to see a Yun do something cheap other then the command grab. but there good at least. They have a real hard getting it, I’ll post a vid of my strategy vs a Yun player.

and cr.jabs are good when people level 1 focus, because you can stuff their buttons and be at an advantage.
theres alot of hit stun on it, so you can like delay a little then counter hit setup.

You should start a Fuerte blog so that you can even get some donation for AE money - Air and Tokido got the Akuma and Ryu blogs covered, so why not Fuerte itself?

and I edit’d it Arde. The matchup is like 5.5-4.5 in fuertes favor. They both bleed hard because Yun and Yang have low health. but s.rh and s.mp give them a real hard time.
depends on the matchup. I say use the one you can land more often, fuck the health. use u2 on like characters who are very linear. like charge characters, Gouken, etc.
also u2 doesnt punish Blankas df.fp anymore at max range anymore.
This is gonna sound kind of extreme but I think fuertes loop is possible to become an infinite in this game.
chain jabs are really good against backdashing mashers. It’s like that it puts them in enough blockstun that there forced to mash longer than they want.
far standing jab is awesome too.
Saying Foward Mk got better brings Lights to my eyes man. I swear shower kick has got to be one of my most favorite moves. The amount of rape it provides is unbelievable. If alot of Fuerte’s normals got buffed then I sir am a VERY happy person.
Being originally a ken main I’ve always loved footsie’s and CH set ups and anything that helps fuerte in these area’s Is just money to me. I now really can’t wait for AE to come out on console
question though can crouching jab link into crouching mk at all? and can you link cr lk into cr jab?
Managed to get a few more games in today.
Feeling the Tortilla nerf a bit more now. The startup frames are rather low to the ground such that even some low attacks will get you if you do the move late. Also hard to do on reaction to Boxer’s dash punch for the same reason. Still need to get used to doing splash instead.
Far HK still loses to Boxer’s cr LP. -_-
Far standing HP is easier to time and pretty good as meaty on opponent’s wakeup. Enough frame advantage for hit confirm super. Doesn’t have as many active frames as it looks like it does though.
The buffs to his normals still won’t get you out of some situations like certain characters’ vortexes and block strings. It’s just as hard as before to escape from good pressure tactics.
Mashable cr. LP I’m finding not as great as I initially thought. Pushes the enemy back a bit more than standing close LP, so I haven’t been using it as much as I was expecting. Nice hit box, and it’s now a good move, but not super amazing.
Blanka, electricity seems to have a better upwards hitbox which messes up splash and even Tortilla if you don’t aim it right. Slide has more blockstun, so it’s harder to punish if spaced right. However, the matchup isn’t much different.
Boxer may have been nerfed, but he’s still very solid. The matchup against him is actually a bit more annoying since you can’t freely Tortilla his dash punches anymore.
Same with Dictator. When I tried Tortilla on scissor kicks, I just got clipped on the way up if I was too close.
Ryu, same old same old.
Had a match with a Sagat. 2 Counter hit Tiger Uppercuts + Full Ultra 1 = dead. O_O
Other than that though, same old same old.
Yun and Yang, treat them like a cross of Rufus and Viper. It’s a fairly even match, but don’t fall down, ever.
I’m pretty happy with AE in that we still essentially play the same way, but we have to really play a solid spacing game now. Especially since everyone seems to be vortexing these days, the moment you fall down you can lose the match.
Unfortunately I’m doing better at the moment with my sub character T Hawk, for the sole reason that people are more scared to use blockstrings.
Also, playing for so long with the few frames input lag on PS3 has messed up my timing on arcade majorly. That’ll take a few more sessions to adjust.

Ok, so I don’t know much about Fuerte except he revolves around okizeme games purely and RSF. So did all of his normals improved? Are there any other buffs? I’m interested in him, but right now I feel very uncomfortable playing a character with no footsie game (except viper, but she has feints to make up for that!).
If you read the OP, you’d see that his normals were improved in different ways. Not all of them, but mostly where it counted. Oh, and that one frame stop is going to pretty much let us have runsies as our footsies.
you mention feints. El fuerte has two built in feints, sudden stop (lp during any run) and back step (lk during forward run) For footsies he can utilize crLP, far MP, far HP, far HK, even f+mk and target combo in the right situations.
Understanding his normals and just how powerful Sudden Stop is IMO is key for fuerte.
