I slid through a Honda (kinda like you slide through Balrog after a guac) after I tostadaâd him, dunno if it was lag or what.
@Densuo: Is it okay if I copy all the info from the first page on this thread regarding the matchups, and paste them on the El Fuerte page on Eventhubs? I need your permission since you compiled all the info and hence the official owner of it
You can slide through Honda and Sagat after theyâre knocked down, itâs a weird hitbox glitch for those characters.
I tried it on every character if I recall correctly the list was close to
Sagat
Honda
Claw
Seth
Abel
I have a feeling Iâm missing a couple.
slide glitch
yeah thoes are the only characters that you can slide through and mix up ⌠once you have trained your opponent you can just keep switchin that up with over head->block strings ect. i think it becomes a harder matchup for them when you learn to use it effectively hope it still works in ssf4
oh yeah! i finally got a new ps3!! (for the ones that are confused,it was stolen a while backâŚ) lol its about time i knowâŚbut i got sf4 to brush up⌠i can still hit RSF x6 consistant âŚim gonna try for more though and get my execution prepared for ssf4âŚits still pretty bad with some of his other little links and what-not because of the lack of playâŚ
Go for it.
Works on Boxer and Guile as well. However, I canât seem to get it consistently on Guile. I can only get it 5% of the time. The timing is probably rather precise.
Congrats on the new PS3 Munchi!
Thanks Densuo
And Munchi, welcome back and congrats on the new PS3
is it normal that you can slide through a character during a combo?
ive been able to do this in training mode against fuerte and guile,
but it seems like this will hurt me more than me being able to react and start another mixup
i dont know if this was posted or not but fuertes drop kick hits standing dhalsim twice if its deep enough.
VS Sagat
Safe jump setups:
Neutral/forward throw - hold UF, late RH. Small step forward and jump fierce for crossup.
Air throw - hold UF, RH. This will cross up anywhere on the screen. To not cross up, you donât have to move, just wait a split second after you recover from the throw before you jump. Both the crossup and non crossup timing are safe to his uppercut.
Tortilla grab - whiff MK guacamole - hold UF, late RH. For crossup fierce off of tortilla grab, dash in twice, run back then immediately cancel and hold UF. This hits a lot, when people see you run back then jump in they think itâs a tortilla grab and try to jump away.
Run-slide - hold down until you see your character crouch - neutral jump late RH. If you just hold up after the slide youâll miss but if you wait just a split second then jump up you get a deep safe jump RH. I usually donât like the ones that include âwait a secondâ since especially if you play online a lot, thatâs asking for a mistake, but this one isnât too hard to get.
Back throw - whiff low jab - jump in RH. whiff low jab, take small step forward, jumpin fierce for crossup.
(corner only) Run - slide - Run back and immediately cancel while holding UF, fierce. Will cross up, is safe to reversals.
Safe tortilla setups:
Tortilla grab - whiff LK guac - dash forward once - run back immediate tortilla all the way forward. Whiffing the guac here is free meter and you get a perfect setup.
Guacamole throw - run back one character width - tortilla all the way forward
(corner only) Run - slide - backdash - immediate tortilla all the way forward.
Random gimmicks:
After a guacamole throw, toward + MK immediately will cross over him, waiting just a split second then doing it will look like itâs going to cross over but it wonât. Do this followed by FP and you can get RSF off of it if they blocked wrong. You can also block after the toward + MK obviously to avoid taking an uppercut to the face.
After you hit him with a run - slide, immediately pressing low roundhouse again will cause you to slide right through him and warp about 3 characters away on the other side. If he uppercuts here it will miss. Other than baiting uppercuts I have not found much use for this.
The gameplan:
Low short makes his tiger knee miss and you get a free throw.
Safe jumpin - stand HP - run - stop - low MK is a true blockstring. No uppercut mashing will work.
Crossup fierce - stand HP is NOT a true blockstring because the crossup isnât deep enough. You can always be uppercutted in between here. Be aware of this. Crossup fierce - low MK is a true blockstring.
Donât splash a good sagat player ever. It is never worth it when he punishes you with TU fadc ultra.
He can cross you up on wakeup with tiger knee, but only if you are crouching. Block standing to avoid this.
Focus attack isnât all that great in this fight, since usually in footsies he is going to be buffering most of his attacks into fireballs or tiger knee.
When you are full screen from him, be patient and wait for a chance to close the gap with ex run. Donât LK guac over the low tigers unless you are completely across the screen or you can be kara-uppercutted. Once you are in tortilla/ultra range keep an eye out for fireballs to punish. Play carefully and keep yourself out of situations where you could possibly be TU fadc ultrad. That means no sloppy jumpins, donât slide into him on wakeup, donât randomly splash at him or slide into him, donât guess fireballs and jump off the wall, donât try to pressure him with jabjabjabjab. If you get knocked down donât panic and do something stupid. Just block, tech throws, and wait for a chance to reset momentum. If he starts jumping away from you then just follow him to the corner. It is very easy to ultra his jump. I think Sagat is one of my easier fights as long as I stick to the game plan.
Adding Halcyonâs post to Sagat section.
Also, if Gief likes to Green hand at round start, Dropkick owns his face.
thanks alot guys! happy to be back!..im training as we speak lolâŚgood thing is i didnt lose my RSF i just need to learn how to kara ultraâŚany tips?
errâŚkara ultra?
"i notice a few people complaining about the difficulty of quickly doing run -> stop -> guac
you know you can just do run -> dp+lp ~ kkk right?
same with run -> stop -> ultra: run -> qcfx2+lp ~ kkk "
- I think this quote is from Buktooth, its copied from my Fuerte text file.
Not sure what youâre talking about here, are you talking about instantly absorbing an attack and punishing with an ultra (ex run, then stop quickly ultra)
if so, you just have to do it quickly, it only took me about a day to get it down and another 8 months to never use it.
(I do tortilla over balrogs often who wake up ultra and then I punish them with run -> qcfx2+lp ~ kkk)
Under the Zangief section, Halcyon talks about a jump cancel Lariat. What exactly is that?
Say you knocked Gief down and youâre El Fuerte.
Say the Gief predicts you will tortilla him on his wake up.
He holds up on wake up and during his first few air frames he cancels the jump into lariat, making it unthrowable.
You can splash him, but you cant tortilla him during that lariat.
Thanks. Wow never knew that. Are there any other characters who has moves they can do that to on wake-up?
