hey. so i was playin with some friends last night and i was practicing ex run through scissor kick into rsf. we tryd to see if it would work on bisons Standing RH and it doesnt, but we did find out that if u ex run into his S RH you can cancel into shower kick and it cannot be blocked and it crosses him over at the same time. only way it doesnt hit is if he crouches but u still cross him up. not sure if this is a repost but it was a good find for us. hope it helps

i see the shower kick but i dont see the ex run into s rh and like i said, not sure if its a repost. thnx for trying though
This is very poorly written I don’t fully understand.
However if you EX run through Bison’s standing RH then you can stop the EX run after the absorb and go into a crouching medium kick loop.
That seems to be the best way to punish Bison’s standing RH, or you can go for the knockdown.
Man, I really need to work on that loop, I have a ton of trouble with it for some reason.
I EX Ran, my cousin did a Scissors kick… I ran under him O_o
i re read it, loox fine to me
So yeah. my previous “homework assignment” was a bad idea ( Gordita Sobat sucks ass, I’m gonna stop trying to make it work) I think listing it as Homework sucks ass, I think I came off as condescending…
But THIS ONE should be one to provide instant feedback:
Your mission, luchadores:
For at least five rounds on your next day playing (doesn’t have to be consecutive) Get the life lead… then turtle the shit out of them. IF they screw up royally, punish them and if you feel the win coming by all means, go for it, but the challenge here is to focus on turtling, or rather, killing the clock and running away then being the aggresor.
Required Info:
Opponent: (Example, Ryu)
Jot down the time of KO if it is a KO, win or lose and by what (example Won round 2 via Airthrow).
If by time out see the difference in life
Try to mention what was done, and what you focused on, what mistakes if any you did
See if the opponent exhibited any patterns or did anything in particular, any glaring mistakes that you capitalized on
Bonus points is opponent Rage Quits
2x bonus points if you get rage mail
EDIT
I need some confirmation about this. As this would alter thoughts on the Chun v Fuerte Matchup.
I mentioned in the Chun Matchup thread about not carelessly jumping in on an Ultra packing Fuerte. The response:
Might anyone be able to confirm this?
I tried it, not sure if i got the timing right for EX hazanshu, but it seems the ultra can still catch her normally even if she cancels. I am NOT positive about this, maybe I missed the timing, so I recorded what I did and posted it on youtube for you guys to see and judge:
Anyone else can confirm this?
If you time the ultra right there is nothing she can do, Im no genius of this game but I believe there are something like 2 frames when you land where you cant block or anything. Ya not a hundred percent sure just something I’ve heard.
looks like you did it RIGHT as she landed, not sure if there’s an opportunity for a EX SBK / Hasanshu… I think I’ll cross reference with the Chunners.
A little thing that happened just 2 days back. I do a martial art in real life, and we had some visiting Japanese students to our dojo, 2 young Japanese University students, who after putting their armour on proceeded to mop the floor with us. After realising every attack I was doing was being countered, I started turtling and it only got worse. With no pressure on her, my opponent just smashed me harder than ever. If I backed off, she just got right back in my face. It got me thinking maybe turtling is not the way to go. I’ll give it a try though.
Back to SF4.
One thing posted quite a while back was someone got standing far HK to do 2 hits on standing Fei.
I’ve figured it out. You have to get your spacing almost perfect such that you’re standing a pixel outside the range that your HK turns into close range HK. A visual guide is if you’re walking forward, just before you touch Fei’s outstretched hand. It also works on Dhalsim with the same visual cue, and you can get it to land fairly consistently with some practice. Haven’t managed to land it on any other character yet.
Another way of getting the range is get right up close, do LP X 3, or just a single standing LK. This will put you in the sweet spot that hitting HK will be the far version and do 2 hits normally.
So what’s the final verdict on this? I posted on the Chun matchup thread, and tried to do what Skatan suggested for testing (record Fuerte jumping then doing ultra), but I couldn’t get ex haz to work (possibly due to me mistiming it). Is there any video of a Chun player escaping the ultra in an actual match?
I’ve never seen a Chun escape like that. Her best option if she neutral jumps is to maybe do roundhouse, but I think even that will only work if you mistimed the Ultra. Or if they make sure that they are next to a wall and jump off of that, but I don’t see EX Hozanshu or whatever or SBK getting out of it at all.
I tried turtling today.
Played a Bison, the result was bad. as he mixed me up and threw me alot.
Tried that with my cousin’s Bison, and he patiently poked me up.
I think its safe to say Turtling vs Bison is a bad idea… drop kicks on his wake up are plenty nice, mixup the move for either of it’s hits, get the second one to land and go for the crMK and you know what to do
Because Bison’s rush-down/attack works so well against Fuerte, I think that’s a match-up where you just need to stay on the attack. He can get you trapped in the corner so quickly, and does a lot of damage to us really fast. Gotta just take him out.
Yeah it’s funny. I went the turtle route and got beat. as when you try to escape it, his standing mk and HK, lk scissors, and cr jab are a hassle.
1 round in particular, I went all out and didn’t let up, scored the session’s only perfect.
Well… at least I learned something by following my own mission… I wonder if anyone else has similar or different results.
hmm, I agree that most of the time, rushdown works better against Bison. BUT, I did play a session once with a good Bison about a month ago, I remember that he kept destroying me for the first half of the session. I was being very aggressive, but it didn’t pay off very well. Then, on the second half of the session, I changed my tactic to a more defensive one, trying to run away with a lead, and it worked wonders on him! He struggled in catching me, and I kept punishing him to death for every mistake he did. I completely controlled the pacing and he eventually sent me a message saying: it is very hard to catch your Fuerte when you play like that, very effective strategy. ggs.
I had a session not too long ago against a Honda, I noticed that he can’t catch you unless you come to him. J.HP and dropkicks do a good job of keeping his headbutts in place. I am probably the most patient when playing against Hondas and Blankas. Trying to go all out is not a good idea.
Another session I had with a very skilled Guile player. Even when I was being moderately aggressive I found myself losing a lot more, so then I went into hyper mode and used my speed to its full effect to put pressure on him, I perfected him once and dizzied him a few times, and didn’t give him a chance to breath. He then sent me a message saying: Next time I’ll be using Akuma If the Fuerte player is very fast its very hard for Guile to do much.
I did all that before the assigment so no points for me I guess lol I will try to do more on the coming weekend!
actually. it still helps as you ARE providing feedback. I think that’s whats most important. Personally I think its a mix of Turtling and fakes to work best against Blanka.
Sup guys, need more tips vs an aggressive dive kicky rufus. If im in corner im kinda fucked. ex guac out is predictable… its hard to guess a grab tech…
