Which is why I would always do that move on reaction against projectiles, blocked moves, jump-ins, and whiffed attacks. Gee, I do that with Ultra 2, but also do it against meaty attempts (Speaking of which, I need to get back to working on that ultra spark option select).
don’t think it’s anywhere near the best
metsu hadouken(so many ways to combo into it)and ultimate atomic buster(bah gawd the damage!) have it beat
if you mean best new ultra in SSF4 then you may have a point but breathless and big bang typhoon give it a run for its money
I love your trolling, don’t ever stop. As if people aren’t aware that ultimate atomic buster does all of 20 more dmg than ultra spark, and can’t be used as an anti air, and has less range, and is a 720 input.
well when someone says ultra spark maybe the best ultra in SSF4
i gotta ask if they mean overall or compared to the new ones
new ones yes
overall no
No, it is one of the best ultras in the game, the fact that you think ultimate atomic buster is better than it because it does 20 more damage invalidates your opinion about anything in this game to be honest.
well they’re both grapple ultra’s so excuse me if i say one is better then the other
ultra spark is still a very good ultra and i find it to be the much needed boost fuerte was looking for
don’t think i outright believe atomic buster is better(its just my opinion not trying to put it off as fact)
spark can still catch people by surprise and slide right into them
so it should be within the top 10 ultra’s of the game(opinion or not metsu hadouken would be near the top)
also do you even play el fuerte?
I’ve never seen you around before and you appear to be a new member(mostly posting in the gief threads)so what brought you here
I dont feel as bad using U2 as before, now i just think of it as punishing sloppy gameplay. “Why would you sweep at this distance” “why would you jump in right there” “why would you random ultra”. It might just be my opponents but i tend to face some people who just go “fuck it hope this works”
Ultra spark is definitely one of the best ultras, new or old (hard to specify which is the absolute best). But there are two conditions, imo, to make it viewed as such. One: It should NEVER be used like a standard grappling ultra like gief or Hawk, it is completely different with its properties and has a lot more uses (like anti-air, reversal, armor break cancel, etc… ). Second: The player must have good reactions, because it really excels at punishing MANY whiffs but only if the player is fast enough.
Yes it is easier to land than giga buster, but i don’t view it as noob friendly. To use the spark properly (without just relying on guesses) you have to understand it well and improve your reactions. I find myself still struggling to land it as much as i should, but that is because I am lacking the reaction and still need to improve it (I either react too fast or too slow). Ultra spark, when used to its full potential, is superb and on par with the best ultras in the game, even those that you can easily combo into.
yeah same here el toro
U2 feels like it just exists to punish people for bad gameplay
cause even when you seem like your down for the count
you whip this out and end up winning somehow
it leaves your opponent speechless like what the hell just happened? 0_o
I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s for punishing bad gameplay. Depending on the player, it’s a great reward if you’re reading your opponent properly.
and that’s the thing about fuerte
you get rewarded for reading the opponent correctly and messing with they’re mind constantly
never get too repetitive
always stay random
always keep your opponent guessing what crazy off the wall stunt your gonna do next
if you can’t read them properly
you start messing up and that’s not something fuerte wants to happen
even one mistake can cost him the round
If El Fuerte is the character that relies on reading the opponent, a fighting game fundamental. I wonder if other characters on the roster rely on other aspects such as footsies, FADC, zoning (Dhalsim), and such.
First time I’ve ever had to add someone to my ignore list, everyone should.
Crimson Cobra is a virus, designed to infuriate people or confuse scrubs.
Anyone who tries to advise playing Fuerte randomly and posts that frequently while being so obviously inexperienced and giving advice is not somebody you should waste time on.
does anyone know why tortilla propeller wasn’t in fuerte’s SSF4 Trials?(guessing they simply didn’t find it worth wasting a spot on the trials list for)
i know it’s easy to do and you could just look at the moves list but still i expected it to be in
So im lookin at the evo list, only 3 fuertes are going so far?
i am used to simpler grapplers so using fuerte as a main is new for me
not used to losing more games then i win with a character
but hey that’s the fun part right?
going through the trials of learning whats what from getting your ass kicked half a dozen times before you really start seeing improvements
Lol wut? Don’t you main thawk?
You guys saying U1 is better than U2?
Maybe I should switch over… I primarily use U2 as someone is falling or getting up after an attack.
Mainly after a tortilla, but they usually learn and jump over it.
Wait so you use U2 as a meaty attack? Yea bad idea, you’re better off using it to punish jump ins or reversal you wont get very far with that plan.
Yea, I pretty much use it to finish them off. Whenever their life is around 50% I activate it. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t…
I’ll try to work that into my game though.
