El Fuerte General Discussion Thread

yeah, me and Saco’s mirror was kinda like that, cept he was whipping my ass all over the place

So, to continue from the thread in the SSF4 forums, anyone have any ideas for a stamp for our “little Mexican gang?” I was thinking of something that when people see it, they think of El Fuerte. Maybe something like the tatoo he has in the concept art with his head over it like the pirate skull and crossbones.

For reference: http://fightingstreet.com/folders/artworkfolder/artworkpics/sf_art/sfiv_art/SF_IV_Concept_Art/SFIV_PC_Concept_Art_El_Fuerte_03.jpg

While the skull tatoo idea is interesting and very unique, I am not sure how many people would associate it with Fuerte since its not instantly recognizable (with the exception of the knife and fork part). If we can use the tatoo as part of the stamp it would be cool though!

Here are a couple of ideas I can think of…

I was thinking of Vanilla’s avatar earlier for the stamp, if he’s willing to share it for the El Fuerte community of course. Going on with the fork and knife for crossbones, how’s about we have Vanilla’s avatar above the two utensils? The avatar is colored green, white, and red like the Mexican flag.

Behind this, we have ourselves the sun from the Ultra K.O.s with the Mexican coat of arms in the center.

This could be a perfect culmination of his costumes (mask for the luchador, utensils for the chef, and coat of arms for the aztec), his Ultras (El Teabag Sunrise, and Ultra Sunrise), and nationality (the colors of the mask).

Love the idea! Sign me up for this

haven’t seen Vanilla around here lately though…

I’m thinking the CoA should be somewhere else. Perhaps at the cross between the fork and the knife. I really want it in. Anyone else have any ideas before I attempt a crappy photoshop this weekend?

Do it. I’ll change my avatar for that. >:O for ultra or :open_mouth: to O:< for win quote it’s all good man.

Come again? I’m not following on that last sentence.

I’m thinking of one more addition: A quote by Emiliano Zapata

“I’d rather die on my feet than live on my knees.” Showing we main a low tier character (hopefully not for long) because we want to instead of maining the higher tiers like others.

This could be the “forum flag” of sorts. Dammit, I hate when I start coming up with stuff like this and get carried away.

Lol we be low tier heroes.

We’re the hardest working players of sf4.

El fuerte doesn’t work hard.

He’s mexican after all. :wonder:

El Fuerte DOES work hard!!! he has two FULL-TIME jobs loool

I am thinking maybe we should go for a more lighthearted quote, something to reflect his friendly nature… any ideas?

We’re hard workers, but at the same time lazy. Don’t ask me how.

For a different quote, how about (off of memory), “My spirit is a spicy as a chili pepper!”

I actually think that your sig is a perfect quote. few words with lots of meaning  what do you think?

Lazy or not, you guys are awesome!! Fuerte made me a big fan of mexican culture!

I was thinking about that. Makes others want to respect us.

I’m glad to see you’re becoming a fan of Mexican culture. I’ve been reading up on Wiki every now and then about the Aztec culture which feels like I’m learning about a part of myself that I closely identify with. Didn’t exactly grow up in a Mexican-American environment and whatnot. I plan on reading up on the modern aspects of the culture, assuming I’m not already familiar with them.

Now that I think about it, Fuerte really is a good window into the culture. As my Spanish teacher once said, the best way to be introduced to a culture is through the food.

Speaking of food and Aztecs, there was a particular gruesome sacrifice to a corn goddess. Read here:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xilonen

damn, that was one read I won’t be forgetting soon O_o thanks a lot for sharing! I even bought a documentary collection about Mexico recently, some really interesting stuff.

I completely agree that food is one of the best ways to introduce many to any culture, and when you have that presented by a friendly luchador its even better

Regarding the quote, I vote for KumaOso’s sig

thats real cool of you akashwan…glad to see el fuerte inspired you to learn about another culture…you need to start watching lucha libre…there is a ton of videos on youtube.

hope they bring more luchadors into future street fighter titles…i really hope one day they remake Saturday night slam masters and bring back el stingray and the other luchador (forgot his name…i think its scorpio)

I love the fuerte team. we stand tall. making all top tiers lookin like bitches trying to block the cross up splash.

But i do still hate Fuerte V Fuerte. Thats why we shouldn’t fight one another. GO LOS FUERTES.

We should just play Fuerte mirror matches to see who can be the most annoying.

Playing a fuerte mirror is like playing the “Whos the retard here” game.

You just splashed me 6 times, you think I’m the retard?
You’re not turtling when you have the life lead?
You just tried to splash me and I have ultra?

looks like YOU’RE the retard.

:smokin:

I’m going to probably work on that Fuerte stamp/flag sometime this weekend. Before I start, Vanilla, could you provide me a transparent, white version of your avatar?
