El Fuerte General Discussion Thread

The Capcom booth at PAX didn’t have a single item with El Fuerte on it to purchase. :frowning:

I’m willing to bet they have El Fuerte masks in Mexico. I mean hell, you can find Nacho Libre masks there. I’m definitely looking for one next time I go down on vacation.
Also, I’ve been searching, and I cant believe no one has ripped the voices from the PC version of SF4

actually, i was looking for the voice of el fuerte for my phone too

would be great if a text message comes with the sound of his f+mk… like “oohryea”.

Booyah!

This is great, thanks a lot Vanilla. Now time for some Fuerte action on my phone as well! I think I will start to like my phone a lot more now :lovin:

lol this is so awesome!

SUPAH DYNAMIK KOOKING TIME!

Since we are talking about voice samples, I am just curious about the Fuerte community preferences, which one do you guys prefer: Fuerte’s Japanese or English voice?

I personally love the Japanese voice, it captures and expresses his personality extremely well, it strikes a perfect balance between being hyper but never annoying.

The English voice, imo, needs a bit more work. The good thing about it is authenticity, as it has the mexican accent. But it seems a tad overdone, I think lowering the pitch a bit would be great. Having an additional spanish language option in SSF4 would be very cool.

omg. this. is what christmas is all about. thank you for the sound clips

I was able to add a clip from ELF into his theme song, clipped it at about :34 seconds.

Anyhow, this is my new ringtone.

I like Fuerte’s Japanese voice better. I’ve heard some other stuff by his voice actor (Ono Daisuke) and he’s pretty versatile. He’s also the voice of Casshern in Tatsunoko vs Capcom, and he’s done a lot of pretty boy voices for the kind of girly anime my wife watches.

A lot of the accents by the English voice actors are faked, and the actors sometimes lapse into their normal speaking voices. Most obvious are Zangief and Rose during their opening story scenes.

However, Fuerte’s English voice is maximum annoyance when spamming runs, so I like that too.

So pissed off Dhalsim didn’t have an Indian accent.

Thanks a lot for the info buddy (and welcome back ), I just checked on Ono Daisuke, he is indeed versatile, he seems to have covered a lot of different roles (including Snow from Final Fantasy XIII!), no wonder he did a great job with Fuerte. Its easy to fall in the trap of being annoying when playing a role like Fuerte, but he got it just right and really brought the character to life.

yeah… totally gonna slap all of this on my iPhone one way or another

guys, im getting tired of fuerte right now.
turtling blankas, jump back fiercing boxers and the kind just make me sick.

im so upset right now i just gotta rant about our lovely luchador.

i dont want to give up fuerte, i just like him too much! but right now im having such a bad time. this never happened to me before, i was ok with ALL matchups.
wtf is going on? :frowning:

Slide ftw?

Don’t worry man, and don’t lose hope. we all go through some bad days and sometimes it lasts for a while. Make sure you throughly read on the matchups, and try to exploit thier weaknesses. Blanka is not too bad once you know to be more patient with him, MAKE him come to you and never try to be too aggressive. Remember that they turtle because they know you will come to them, prove them wrong and they will be pissed instead of you.

Balrog is a problem, but I also noticed that being less aggressive against him is also good. Qbomb helps a lot here as it can beat his charges if timed well, so make sure to incorporate that in your strategy. EX guac is your friend, and bait and punish that stupid back jump fierce with ultra. Slides are good too. This matchup requires a lot of effort if the Balrog player is really good, try to keep offense and defense balanced, with a slight focus on defense if you get a life lead.

And if you ever feel down, look no furthur than brainz’s avatar to cheer you up!!! works for me lool Once you get out of this slump (you WILL), savor that beautiful feeling of reward and satisfaction that only Fuerte can provide!!!

pick el fuerte ultra spark against them

thanks for cheering me up mate
that alone did help me a lot!

actually the matchups are not my real problem. its just the fact that simple “tactics” like that work very well against fuerte :frowning:

imagine this: boxer does a blockstring. you are about to counter it with whatever. what happens is: jump back fierce. it beats almost anything. if it were predictable, i would ex-guac right away. but i tend to mess up easy things like that.
in this situations i try to be calm and defensive at first. but then i realise that im eating too much damage and the fail begins…

the issue with blanka is, you cant let him come to you all the time. sooner or later you will make a wrong guess and its paid be a chunk of your lifebar thanks to fuertes ridiculously low health.
you as soon he has meter, he stops all you wake-up game with his ex-upball. thats not the problem either. baiting is not that difficult, but getting into a scrubby mind is.

trying not to be predictable doesnt work either. i do random things nobody would expect but i get beaten again.
cant seem to evolve my game seriously :frowning:

maybe i just need a break of sf4 for now… but that doesnt mean i will give fuerte up!
fuerte forever baby, fuck ssf4 chars

Dont be scared to focus some rush punches. that will make him throw the delayed/ armor break ones, which you can then Quesadilla/ neutral jump FP -> Combo

Blanka is just patience.

I do hate how some simple tactics can beat Fuerte. I wish we had a longer reaching Guac.

Just grab that life lead. take control

yes a longer reaching guac would help a lot. I don’t mind having low health, but the damage output for some of Fuerte’s moves needs to be improved (looks at Fajita Buster!!!)

I sometimes really feel frustrated as well when i lose to someone that I KNOW is a scrub just because they figured out those simple tactics, that used to happen a lot before, but now I lose a lot less to them (except Blanka which I still need a bit more practice against), and feel GOOD about it when I completely control the pacing. Fuerte is really all about pacing, depending on each matchup if you get the right pacing for it you will do good. The real challenge comes when you face a player that is really good and on a much higher level than you, but losing in those matches is a lot less frustrating because you know you were outmatched, and encourages you to improve and hit that training mode!!!

I will mess around with the new SSF4 characters, but I honestly know that I will never change Fuerte as my main at all, he is just too awesome :lovin:. To all new and old warriors: Prepare to be SPARKED!!
