El Fuerte General Discussion Thread

I meant top 100 arcade BP, not console. A list posted in one of the other threads showed not a single Fuerte in the top 100.

oh i see

this is depressing…

It’s all because of swine flu.

it’s not surprising to me that EL Fuerte’s stock has dropped. he’s akin to a unknown minor league player who’s hitting the cover off the ball for the first month or two of the season in the big leagues. However, once opposing teams pitching staffs start breaking the player down. his flaws become very apparent and as a result. his batting average sinks faster than the Titanic and he’s sent back down to the minors. oh well, maybe Capcom will refine the design if there is a next time around.

I lol’d

I swear ive been able to full super combo after a lvl3 Q bomb…Must verify tonight!

if you’re by a wall, then yes

He’s got flaws, but it doesn’t seem like he has THAT many.

I dunno, maybe Japan just isn’t scared of a beastly Fuerte anymore and they’ve all moved on to Sagat.

no, not many just 2 main flaws. i think he could be a very competitive character with one, but the other is killing him. if played correctly. a high stamina character have nothing to fear from El Fuerte.

is there a way to get a hit out of crumpling fa’s that connect when the opponents jumping? will the leg throw work?

not sure if all leg throws work, but EX does

Don’t know if this has been mentioned, but I was trying to link a standing roundhouse (his launcher) into super like the combo challenge and got it to work, but only connected with one hit. I thought about Ryu players who use every time their opponent falls back to the ground as a chance to use their super/ultra, so I started timing the super better with El Fuerte and found I could connect the entire super if you time it right (don’t do the super right after the s.HK, wait until your opponent is falling first.) This has worked in training, going to try it in arcade mode, but I just wanted to share this in case it hasn’t been talked about. Anyone do this? Land it consistently online?

generally saving ex bars is a bad idea.

its been said before but u shouldn’t come close to having a super other than a few situations.

  1. when you are destroying the other guy, no need for them so kinda moot.

  2. vs very few chars. i think one that was mentioned might be vega. i’m thinking cammy might be another one. i’m not sure though, i use the bars for dmg on my fa’s regardless usually.

el fuertes supers kinda meh, not a lot of dmg and really easily stuffed by normals even. if you’re winning matches though and don’t plan on being competitive please go ahead and link away, do what works for you

I’m such a noob. I have JUST discovered how useful c.fp is to stop jump-ins. Holy shit…
I guess getting to G2 has forced me to play smarter =D

yeah, you have to wait a bit. it was mentioned somewhere and i confirmed it in training, but a fun thing to do is do close s.RH to launch them, cancel that into run (run runder them as they’re in the air), then cancel run into super going the opposite direction you launched them.

haven’t done it online since there’s not really a reason and i rarely have enough bar, but yeah… it’s neat.

?

Fierce run stop fierce xx super is like half life. Who is going to randomly throw out this super, anyways? That’s just stupid.

The only time you should ever have a super with elf is if you are raping the other guy horribly.

Understandable about not keeping super; EX guac is a great punishment for baited DPs/etc and EX run is good for runaway fireball types. I’m having some trouble with my Focus Attacks, though.

I’ll land a tortilla propeller, dash forward and charge a lvl 3 FA, it hits: what should I do here? RSF would be choice but I haven’t figured out how to do it, I try to dash in for a s.HK > ex guac but my opponent is on the ground before the kick connects. What am I doing wrong? Also: could I land an ultra here? trying this out now…

If RSF is giving you trouble, try the cl.Fierce->Run->Slide. Close HK comes out really slowly; it’s mostly useful against huge whiffs.
