El Fuerte General Discussion Thread

thanks alot skisonic! awesome math. i have a pretty hard time pulling the loop off still, maybe i’ll just settle for 2 fierces and a slide.

where you tested gief, dic, and ryu, that was rsf loop on them crouching right? just to make sure

kind of sucks that it hardly works on crouching… in 3s, you want you opponent to be crouching, more damage!
blah

ski, thank you. I’ve been using Lvl 3 FA after dizzies to start RSF… I won’t anymore.

I’ve been playing people who are mashing out ultra inbetween my failed fierces. I’ve seen the guy next to me wildly mash ultra while he is getting RSF’d and the moment one of my links are off… boom…half my life gone with one move. More people are catching on to the ridiculously easy reversal inputting. But having said that it does add a new dimesion to it all if you try to bait something after a few fierces.

Muchos gracias for the contribution. Would’ve never thought that a focus would hurt RSF so much.

Also, his glitches are pretty wtf. I found Fuerte going straight through another Fuerte after Cl.hp xx run xx slide.

I forgot one thing that’s sort of important.

For me, it seems much, much easier to RSF an opponent after a focus crumple.
This is probably by design, but it could just be my imagination. I’m working on a test for this so I can have some concrete info eventually, but it seems like that may just be a sacrifice you have to make for an easier punch loop.

Just a theory on that one for now.

n0thingman: yep, tested vs gief dic guile ryu crouching. The only one where it felt like it’s possible to get more than a few was gief. And yea, in sf4 I thought crouching would be bad like in 3s, but at least vs fuerte seems like that totally isn’t the case. Bright side of that is, Fuerte’s focus attack is GREAT vs crouchers/crouching attacks/crouching hitboxes. So at least there’s that.

Shubacca: once you get the hang of RSF, you can often tell when your next fierce is about to whiff. That was a big problem for me on the night where I feel like I crossed over to actually being comfortable with it. Also run stop nothing is pretty safe anyway, if you smell a reversal toss it in and if you see them blocking throw em real fast if you can. Don’t be afraid to reset it, especially if you fee like you aren’t going to connect the next fierce. IMO the resets are really in your favor, so mixing it up is cool.

Shaolin: Ive seen that cl.hp xx slide go through Ryu and Claw as well. I tried to replicate it a few times but it seems like it’s just one of those actual bugs that you’ll see sometimes but wont really affect things.

His personality and frantic movement seem way out of sync with the Street Fighter style. It’s taking me a while to get used to his inclusion.

whats a good strategy for turtlers like blanka and guile. blanka has been the most annoying to me. that and scrubby ken spammin srks

Check the match up thread.

Anyone experience the random phasing with f+mk?
Vs kens f+mk you you threw each other. same with vegas d+hk sweep.

Jesus Christ @ the Ryu match at the end…Elf had him locked up in the corner and just proceeded to rape… o_O

Excellent post. This should be on every page***!***

This might sound like a dumb question…but how do i grab off of a wall jump?

i just started playing him. hes a good run away character. get some hits then wall jump away to the other side. his run is somewhat useless against characters that can dp though i did bait some newbies with run move, then quickly press jab to stop, then throw, this works good when the oppenent is tryin to do a wake up special like kens dp. you can stop the run with jab, do standing hk ex special throw. hes pretty fun to play casually but for tournment i’d say no.

Holds Fierce after doing the wall-jump, easiest way is to hold fierce as you press forward to do the wall-jump.

You’ll see Fuerte’s animation changes as soon as you do that.

i’m the guy that just finished playing you (proof185) , good el fuerte man , and good games

like you want a regular grab in the air? if so then just :lp:+:lk: but if you want the fajita buster then you press :hp: after the wall jump.

Yeah for sure man, good games. It’s fun playing against other El Fuerte’s even though I don’t even know what the hell is going on half of the time during the match.

Sounds simple…but I now realize how really important this is.

Do you think they will nerf El furete because of that inf he got? I hope they don’t, I jsut want some more options for my mix up game. Also, does Furete own any characters, or can keep it with that said to be character?

Edit: also has anyone tried doing chill pepper inf(RSF) without using the LV.3 Foucs attack?

If anything, Fuerte needs a buff for his damage output - it’s too low right now especially for someone with such a low health.

I doubt they’ll nerf the loop. C’mon, they show you that it’s possible in the hard challenge mode thing and i’m finding it’s taking a LOT of practice to get down.
