Well initially people thought he was probably high tier, I don’t think top tier though. And yeah, I don’t know where you live, but there were Abel players all over SoCal, and now there are only a few Abel players and only one (that I know of) who’s still a dedicated Abel player. Thing is, it turned out that he has a hard time defending himself, his rushdown is really hurt by the unsafeness of his rekkas and the difficulty of landing both hits of crouching fierce, and his zoning and footsie game just isn’t that great. Anyways, back to Fuerte.
I go to CTF.
=]
For the record, my bullshit sense was tingling the first time I played Fuerte. By the end of an hour of play, I knew he was going to be up there in the tiers.
had time to practice against the computer yesterday. That fierce run fierce loop is crazy hard. Any tips on doing this?
A gift for fuerte players:
Next time you perform an ultra, do the motion QCF+KKK, and hold all the kicks.
Wait for the ultra’s duration.
Release kicks upon recovery for your first ex chest press!
I always think “its so long” when playing fuerte… I guess it applies to more a few aspects, but usually im thinking this about his succesful ultra animation, or the ex chest press… I realized they could be combined.
This opens up a lot of options because you have enough time to just pick which 2 kicks you like to hold so you can think of some funky setups with only one kick available.
It makes a comeback with fuerte always a possibility, even after a low-revenge (low-damage) ultra. A few hits + ex chest press’s ridiculously high stun is probably the quickest way possible to dizzy in the game.
Oh it probably works as a defensive tactic vs other ultra’s with very long sequences (gief/blanka/ken/most chars on hit)
ski, not sure I follow. So during YOUR elf’s ultra, you do the motion of QCF+KKK?
Beautiful!
WOW! thats crazy cool to do chestpress after ultra never thought of doing that cuz U usually have to controll where the ultra goes but yeah thanks for the TIP!
Nevermind, I overthought it. Good stuff!
Given that Capcom obviously does not seem to worry about racial stereotyping, shouldn’t El Fuerte have a win quote that goes something like
“Hey if you think that was a mean beat down, you should play me and my amigos in KoF98!”
Hey guys. Played a sim player for the first time and just could not find a way to beat him. What do you guys do to deal with his fireball, teleport, combo shenanigans? That is all blockable right?
Also while trying to beat his limbs, I’d do ex run to absorb, then get into splash/throw but he seemed to be able to jump out of the way.
Anyone have tips for fighting him?
Walljump, dp+lk, d+hk, runback hp
when he teleports, light punch would knock him out already… then follow up with pressure again…
Hey everyone Not sure if u allready knew but just for those that didnt. If u do this combo: Jump in or off the wall hp+hp+Chestbump into super. It will usually just do two hits of the super if ur opponent is Standing cuz the Chestbump will do a knockback…HOWEVER! If u do the combo and get the jump in hp while the opponent is crouching and do the rest of the combo into super it will connect the whole thing! The only way the super will work if the opponent is standing and is in the corner or very close and the chestbump shoots him into the corner. The chestbump will still do a knockback but the supper will juggle all the hits and force them to stand at the end and will finish the super! Have fun out there guys! :woot:
sweet, thanks guys.
Is jab yoga fire> teleport cross up j.fierce an unblockable?
Nah, just make sure you always block away from where Dhalsim is, not where the fireball is. So if Sim sets up a jab flame trap and teleports to your other side to attack, block his attack, not the fireball.
bah, chest-bump is so hard to pull off consistently for some strange reason… there was actually a point where i was doing the infinite (or attempting) and the chest-bump came out! no idea why.
i’ve been using his overhead more during poke strings as it’s a great way to get in close and some free damage as most people can’t block it on reaction.
whenever you get the opponent into a mindset of BLOCKING instead of ATTACKING, you’ve already won half your battle.
just keep the pressure up and bam bam bam tack on the infinite and voila win!
ultradavid: bihn and i are driving down for about a week so maybe we’ll show up at FFA or something for some sexf4!
Oh, sick! Send me a pm when you’re coming down, we’ll meet up.
Also, his overhead is really good, it’s really fast, great for ground crossups, and pretty easily confirmable into super.
Fantastic…seriously. It’s retarded but I’ve been losing sleep over this.
is it alright if someone posts that combo i see el fuerte do in the vids(if anyone knows it)
or make a new thread that’s more specific to a first page update on all combos/strats.
been thinking of learning el fuerte, but dont really want to skim thru 14 pages and not find what i’m looking for.
thanks in advance
