super into ultra? Never seen that before . I thought his ultra was a grab so how would it connect or combo?
thanks, that was my next question
Anyone have any tips on doing his infinite? is it standing fierce, then dash with jab and stop with jab, standing fierce again?
just fyi, you can link the move where you hold down kick button into the super. I’m starting to like that move more, it’s his quickest hitting ground move. Good for countering whiffed DPs and for footsies.
that chest butt is an amazing move
use it often
since I posted it in the dizzy points thread, Im just going to go ahead and post it here since its pretty pertinent for fuerte players:
First : El fuerte vs ryu, outright fierces it SHOULD take to stun (un comboed).
total stun - stun taken = stun points remaining.
(1)1000-200 = 800
(2)800-200 = 600
(3)600-200 = 400
(4)400-200(.95)=210
(5)210-200(90)= 30
(6)30 - 200(.75)= <0
The multipliers are for guts. When tested (thanks to gilley), I believe this was confirmed.
Here are some numbers for punch loop vs ryu.
(1)1000-200 = 800 (fierce (90), focus((60/100)(80/150)(140/200)))
(1000-90= 910)
(2)800-200 = 600 (910-0= 820)
(3)600-200(.8) = 440 (820-(90*.8)= 748)
(4)440-([(200(.7)])=300 (748-(90*.7)= 685)
(5)300-([(200(.6)])= 180 (685-(90*.6)= 631)
(6)180-([(200(.5)])= 80 (631-(90*.5)= 586
(7)80-([(200(.4)])= 0 (slide) (586-(150*.4)= 526)
**(8)#small–([(200(.3)](.95)]
Ok I know that looks like a bunch of crap, but basically the numebrs are the same as above. The 200 is being multiplied for the combo modifier on the left end. On the right, I calculate remaining stun first, then further to the right is remaining life. I had to calculate life so I could apply Guts. However since I calculated this from the beginning of the lifebar, guts was not a factor.
Things I found from this math:
*At a glance, its easy to see why Akuma will easily get dizzied from this combo.
*Stringing 8 fierces (as Ino happened to mention in his early tier impressions), is quite hard, but its the number needed to ensure a dizzy vs MOST characters.
*For el fuertes, target should be 6 total hits: (considering the first hit is a 200 stun move - lvl3 focus, s.fierce, i think j.fierce). So thats, initial hit, 4 fierces, and a slide. For a normal stun character, one succesful splash after that should dizzy. This is vital information for the character.
*This combo is calculated from the beginning of the lifebar. Since the combo doesn’t do more than 50%, guts are not taken into account. Although its a small modifier, you can see how it would affect the numbers at the end and force another hit or two for dizzy. Most people are not going to land the punch loop immediately in a fight, but if you do, you get a nice reward.
Basically I found a few interesting things. It seems as though the approach of using all big, whole numbers makes the math pretty straight forward.
Also, its nice and interesting for most (if not all?) chars stun == damage. This is basically the reason why you almost never see dizzies in sf4 compared to a game like cvs2. If you look at the numbers, certain attacks would actually never stun because they do stun equal to or less than damage dealt (therefore you would kill the opponent before stunning them, if you hit with this attack repeatedly outside of a combo).
Guts plays a big deal. As stated before, even though the modifier is small compared to the combo scaling modifier, it can be the difference between a clear stun and a tiny amount of stun remaining towards the end of the lifebar. This seems to very intentional, the stuff just works out very directly. Basically it makes the other guy harder to kill.
So the idea is. Land a big combo or two early, you get a stun. Land them later and you might not get it. And the other guy has ultra at that time too.
Oh one last thing, characters with lower vitality also have lower stun. That means guts scaling comes into account for them even sooner.
if the numbers in the parenthesis on the right are solving for remaining life…then wow. ill stick with this guy.
edit: nvm those are stun numbers
Sorry if this was already discussed, but could Capcom make his St. HP non-cancelable (or just Super cancelable) as a solution to his loop combo?
As seth said - they are not concerned with the “loop problem”, because fuerte hasnt won a single tournament yet. he is listed as 2nd worst in the game on the current matchup chart WITH his loop. What do you think happens when you take it awy without giving him anything?
He becomes the Twelve of SF4?
Ah well I get what you mean by that, still I do plan on using him as a main when I get to play the game.
He already IS the twelve of sf four. He would become the Dan of MvC2.
Claw is the twelve.
At least Fuerte can do some damage more consistently.
Fuerte is definitely not like Twelve, he has much better matchups, deals better damage, and can actually control matches. No reason to nerf the loop, it hasn’t been shown to be particularly useful, let alone too good.
Hopefully he won’t be a total dissapointment like El Blaze from Virtua Fighter 5.I thought he was going to be awesome. His moves were lame.
i’m guessing most of you have already seen this, but i thought i’d link it in this thread for posterity:

some japanese tourney (nakano TRF) from a few days ago.
SPOILER ALERT:
elf is the winnar
you suck at giving spoiler alerts.
anyways, sf4 is relatively balanced to have any ‘xx = dan’ comments. worst matchup so far is 7-3 and it probably will get better not worse.
when you used to play games where matchups are like 9-1 and shit, nobody is really a shitty character. it definitely is harder to win with elf though, but that’s probably because i use ryu as my main. ahhaha.
infinite poewr!
Yeah, that is some sweet Fuerte action, you can really see how important and effective the loop makes him as a character. A couple players near me do many of the things that guy does, but none of them can do the loop reliably yet.
I think Fuerte’s probably mid tier, maybe even high-mid. I like him in a lot of matchups, including in matchups against otherwise high or mid tier characters.
Which clip are you referring to? I’m trying to follow but I don’t think I’m seeing the same vid you are.
On another note, does elf have anything to chip someone to death with? Chest bump? I’m talking a sliver of life left.
Can somebody make a new El Fuerte thread? This thread is really big and the first post is outdated and irrelevant. I want to try Elf but I don’t even know his moves because there’s no recent thread.
Here are the direct links, courtesy of danomighty. It’s a whole tourney, so you’ll have to scan through the vids to find the elf matches. They are beautiful.

Mariodood: yeah, i have to agree that the elf thread is pretty hard to get info from compared to the other char threads. i spent over an hour last night reading this whole thing to figure out his moves.
i’d compile all the info in this thread into one nice thread starter, but i’m too busy playing the game
anyone else up for the challenge?
