Tortas, yes, one of Milanese de Pollo (Breaded chicken).
had that with some Quesadilla.
Damn it its gooooooooooood
also. buuelos, its got Guava in there. Guava, Cinnamon and Brown sugar. This right here is a combo in tastiness equal to how badass RSFs are to Fuerte’s game.
To anyone that hasn’t tried it before, I implore you to try mole at least once in your life. I say so, only because mole is just one of those foods that doesn’t taste like anything else: one of a kind.
Fried liver and gravy. Sounds gross, but ooooooh man is it delicous and sooooo tender. Might be more of a Tex-Mex thing though.
Barbacoa tacos, served the only proper way which is with cilantro and onions on CORN tortillas. If you’ve never had it, you’re better off not knowing what it is before you eat it.
Carne Guisada!
Chorizo and bean tacos (w/cheese). Good for any time of the day.
Frijoles Borrachos! (Drunken beans) “How could we possibly make this pot of beans better? BEER!!!”
Menudo. See note attached to 2.
Pozole.
Other than 1 and 2, I can’t believe nobody has mentioned these yet. Come on guys, I highly doubt I’m the only Fuerte player that is actually Mexican. :bgrin:
I haven’t had Mexican food in a good while. That’s what happens when you go to a Louisiana college where Mexican food pretty much sucks beyond all reasoning. No, Taco Bell doesn’t count. At most, it’s like a temp fix.
@KumaOso: The MAIN reason I never bothered too much to try proper Mexican food before playing Fuerte IS Taco Bell. It left a really bad after taste in my mouth, and then I had a hard time getting excited about Mexican food. I was in Purdue University in Indiana till May 2008, and I don’t recall there were any decent mexican restaurants. When SF4 got released on consoles I was already back in my home country (UAE), and then Fuerte inspired me to give Mexican food another shot. I searched through in my city and found two restaurants that are supposed to be good (not sure how authentic they are since I never tried Mexican food in Mexico itself lol), but they were miles better than Taco Bell and had good variety. The taste was very unique and the food was very filling. I tried more restaurants in the neighboring cities and I fell more in love with the taste One day I hope I get a chance to visit Mexico itself and get the real taste, and watch live lucha libre as well XD
I haven’t had a lot of Mexican food, but I love Fajitas.
The last time I was at a Mexican restaurant, my friends dared me to eat a whole Jalapeno, and I suck at eating chilli, so after burning my mouth, I drank every liquid on the table.:xeye:
i hear you. I do like Taco Bell’s Chalupas… but other then that. After I had my first taste of authetic mexican food, I pretty much never ate at Taco Bell again.
I’m surprised you have Mexican restaurants in the UAE. Come to think of it, I’ve never had Mexican food in Mexico myself save for some corn and candy when I went shopping there when I was eight. If you get the chance, try a Fajita Quesdilla. Probably my most favorite food. Before that, it was Chicken Friend Steak and Gumbo.
Oh, and Spring Break starts in two weeks, I’m going to try to finally get around to making that horchata, especially with the Mexican vanilla I have.
Also, be careful in Mexico what with the crime and whatnot, but you probably know that. While you’re at it, go check out all the various ruins. I want to that myself one day since I identify so closely to the indigenous heritage of Mexico.
