Only 6 more months til Petsona 4 Arena is released

p4 arena doesn’t come out for 6 months? Seem like a long time to wait for a game that’s out in arcades already. Sfxt isn’t doing it for me right now. I can pick it up and play for fun tho.

Auto-Block & Auto-Throw for 2 gems slots and 1/4 meter at activation is really fucking broken but I want it really bad lolol. Right now the US is banning all gems from tourney play because the customization interface takes too long. If Capcom does implement the USB feature to cut out the gem selection process I wonder if NA tournies will allow gems and if they will ban specific ones.

That being said online (as shitty as the netcode is right now) would be extremely annoying with gems like that.

Auto-tech for 1/8 of a bar and extending the length of pandora are the ones that really made me raise an eyebrow.

You’ll notice that a gem that does something like autotech for 1/8 of a bar takes all 3 gem slots for the character, like the gem Killey mentioned. Autoblock and autotech is ass because it doesn’t activate unless you both have the meter and the stick and buttons are completely neutral. There’s a lot better uses of gems than those, they’re garbage really. Its not like marvel where autoblock would be busted on teleport mixups afterall. Gimme a power gem active during a big combo just once per match as opposed to having my meter drained when I take my hands of the stick anyday.

Just to let people know, Gems will be banned at the Keep it Classt 2 tournament.

Auto-tech works if you’re crouching, empty jump, mess up a jump arc, pushing buttons, etc… so no idea what you’re talking about. Only time it’s failed for me is when I get thrown during the recovery of something.

I haven’t tested the auto-block gem but if it functions any where close to auto-tech then it’s going to be good. You build meter so quickly in this game, coupled with a meter gaining gem, and better footsies then your opponent you’re going to have a tough time opening them up.

My bad on auto tech, but seeing as the throw game is so weak in this game I’m standing firm that it’s ass. Throws are really telegraphed in this game due to the range.

I can still think of better uses for meter than autoblock, there’s not a lot of ambiguous setups that really need it. Alpha counters, tag cancels etc. Though ymmv.

You haven’t been watching good people play this game. There are some good mix ups/rushdown in the game that lead into big damage. I’m willing to use 1 meter to not die.

Or we could learn to block and not rely on gems that might stay banned. Costs no meter btw!

It’s for clutch blocking. Of course you still need skill, it’s for dealing with shit like crazy mid hits in rekkas and shit from Tekken chars that are impossible to react to

I haven’t gone through all the tekken characters yet but not knowing what’s an overhead on canned string combos is silly. Straight matchup knowledge and nothing more, at least for now. This is the stuff you get caught by early on but later on I think we will be past that.

You can mix up the follow ups for rekkas in a lot of characters, and it’s not really canned, half of Julia’s moves hit overhead but look like lows, you can’t react to that shit

Not that it makes any difference because gems are banned, but “man up and block” isn’t an accurate assessment of the usefulness of autoblock/auto tech

Auto tech in particular is really useful vs Rufus. If you basically don’t have to tech vs Rufus, he has no offense
