Throws look useless as fuck in SFxT. Throw range cut nearly in half? Good job, Nerfcom.

Well, since SFxT has two-button throws, I’d assume there would be kara-grabs. The question is, why make them so shitty? I think it’s common knowledge by now that Capcom has made Special Moves and Throws worse with each new series, in the SF franchise.

SF2 had 0-frame startup (instant) throws. AFAIK no other SF game had them. Every game after SF2, none of the throws in those games compare to it.

Yeah on one of the streams for sfxt they said throws sucked not only for range but damage too I guess. Shame too, I like a throw and command grab game.

Also for sf2, I forgot how blatantly the CPU cheats. Fighting Bison has walk up headstomps and psycho crushers all day long. And that standing roundhouse is nuts. It’s so weird going back to sf2 now that I know more as a player compared to when I first played it as a kid. The best guy who I played with picked Ken and high level play was fireball wars until someone flubbed the controls and took a hit. I remember we often played together to trade turns trying to see all the endings, and the looks on faces when they saw chun wreck the car twice as fast as anyone else lol. Now though, I see a game with really core gameplay but a few issues that irk me. I think the damage is too high, but I can respect how little room for error that gives to win for example. Or gameplay when I was playing a guile mirror, CPU’s no charge flash kicks were wrecking me until I found slow boom traps were free. So good but so rough on the edges.

Yet it’s still awesome fun. Wish I could play it on a stick instead of psp at work. Time to really play some alpha 3 max tomorrow, sim vs super anime bison feels 11-0.

Yup. gdlk reactions and it does more damage than you. Anyone with a mash grab, the CPU can do at least 50% or more damage. It’s frustrating but it’s fun trying to beat the CPU.

And that’s why Execution is key in SF2. One mistake and it’s over. I love the fact that matches can last 10s or less.
