I didn’t think you could cancel Dan’s jab into a special move. There is time to start a dp before the jab hit stun is over so it’s probably a link. Hit confirming from a single jab is pretty much impossible. I’m not really sure about that first part about the special cancel. The only hit confirm I know of with Dan is cr.lk > cl.st lk > hp.DP. With a little bit of practice you should be able to confirm whether the cr.lk or cl.st.lk connects.
dan has a 3 frame dp and can cancel OR link from his c.jab, just like ken. same goes fir his cl.s.lk yeah

Remember too you can’t cancel into a special if you chained normals
You can go: c.lp, c.lp, c.lp xx srk, but you can’t go c.lp xx c.lp xx c.lp xx srk

if you can link dp u can chain jabs and mask the srk, thats what jj does with ken
ryu: crouch lk, crouch lp, link uppercut… 3 frame link
ken: crouch lk, crouch lp, link stand lp, cancel uppercut
dan can do crouch lk, crouch lp, link uppercut… but it’s a 1 frame link
ken doesnt have to do that. he can chain 2 c.jab and link fp dp
