See this is a legit reply and I have respect for bee for posting it. In your opinion wouldnt you rtaher have sat with justin and played a ft10 off stream or just for the hell of it and ask him shit during it? Wouldnt that have been better for you then a streamed exhibition?
I had the ability and sit and play justin in a ft15 at toryuken and learned lots about all my AE alts (spacing, how to deal with things, etc). Wayyyy more stuff then i could have possible learned in some stupid exhibition match, especially a ft3. My point was simply to take the opportunity to play these guys without added pressure (exhibition, stream, etc) and trying to prove something in an exhibition type format and actually learn something from it and have a conversation about shit.
Instead of constructively taking what I said and assuming I called all you guys shit,when i merely said you arent on the same level as someone like noel and shouldnt run some exhibition which would be a waste of time, which im pretty sure you all agree on, you guys want to rant and rave like little children and tell me shut the fuck up and at least you play and all this nonsense.

I had made this suggestion to make the event more exciting. Even though B is the best I played in Edmonton (AND I get destroyed) It doesnt discourage me from facing a top american player. Even if we get slaughtered, (Atleast I probably will) I wouldnt care because it helps us learn and get more experience. You say its a embarrassment to Canada, when it really shouldn’t be. I dont think its fair to judge Edmonton’s scene by Shiro’s placing. I never went to Canada Cup to compete, So I dont know how far I would have gotten.
If we do end up flying these players in, whats the point in having them here if we dont have a exhibition against them? It will be good hype for sure.

Flying someone in does not obligate you to have exhibition matches. Having an exhibition match with your best players and getting bodied for free is not hype. Shit’s depressing. Play them longer sets off stream and talk to them during it so you can actually learn something instead of a ft3 where its you publicly getting your shit pushed in and continuing this notion that Canada is free. Step your game up and learn matchups, gameplans and your own tech. Even bee said it himself, you guys are small community and dont have matchup knowledge and the competition on that high of a level.

We have been getting a discount on the big station up until this point by accident. They should have been charging us more so now they are going to charge us 5/hour instead of 3.50. It’s not really noticeable after 5 hours it’s 7.50 more over the course of the night so I think we should just suck it up and continue to use it. Any opinions on that would be appreciated obv.

Remember that next week is free pizza but games aren’t likely to be free. The cost of the stations was 42.50 and the amount we brought in was 70. After that we have 87.50 towards pizza. I really need help with prize ideas for top 4 finishers. Mine are all dumb. One I have is to give the top 4 finishers 1st choice on the pizza toppings. Another Idea is to give top 4 finishers a free pass to play in one of the four ranbat 2.0 series nights. See how brutal and unoriginal those prizes are? HELP.
On a seperate note: Shiro brought up to me he needs help raising funds for Alberta Beatdown 3 and he’s wondering if we can help in some way. If any portion of the overages from the ranbat season directly or indirectly went to ABD3 it would need to be voted on and I would feel way better if it was unanimous too. If every dollar we raise during our ranbat season went to the ABD 3 it still wouldn’t cover the starter pots so I don’t really think that makes sense to flat out donate that way. I’m thinking we could do some other cool shit to help Shiro out like raffles and shit. Actually I don’t have a clue how to fund raise so if anyone else has any ideas that would be great too. Also if anyone doesn’t want to put the money towards ABD3 in some way and they have been out more than once so far then pm me and I promise i will keep it confidential.

Why would continuing this make Canada look free? If I remember my geography we are only part of a city in Canada. Does Edmonton represent Canada? No it does not. Team Edmonton != Team Canada. Also why does the notion bother you? From what I read you dont really care much for the game to begin with. Just because we get bodied by possibly the worlds best marvel player in the world doesnt necessarily make us free.
I like how you automatically assume that we will end up getting bodied. Anything is possible. Who knows, maybe someone might end up beating Noel or Fanatiq, we will never know unless we try. I watched joker play against JWong. I hear Joker is one of the best in the East Coast. But he still got bodied. Even though that Happened, I respect his skills. I never played marvel, game was just fun so I just entered in tournaments and did a little lab stuff in vanilla because I had fun. Only reason i brought up that one marvel placing was to show how random the game could be if i was placing anywhere decent in it. Was always an sf4 player.
