I put myself in a higher standing of social outcasts than bronies because while we both watch shows that seem to be intended for little girls, mine do not feature ponies as the main characters
Yeah, and Jem is a total babe!!
I’m putting this up because its semi-topical and I’ve been recently watching Doctor Who and I’m super fucking hooked.

I’m still not going to watch mlp…
I watched half an episode of MLP.

It was alright…

I’d never watch that show, but if that comic is true I really got to avoid it… and one half of that one is true IMO
Same here, except I was thoroughly underwhelmed. I’m all for self-aware, eye-winking-at-the-adults cartoons (PPG comes to mind right away), but MLP doesn’t do anything terribly enthralling to me.
I got 3rd in SFxT in Calgary.

Thanks for having us! It’s probably going to be the last time I get to just come down to Calgary on a whim so I really just enjoyed it that much more.
Good to see people from etown come for the tournie. Kinda glad Bee didn’t show up .
Ps4 announcement was made, and I saw something interesting in it. Apparently it has a Share button right on the controller for instant uploads to things like Youtube and streaming capability, and supposedly will have zero performance issues doing it for gameplay purposes. If that’s true, the streaming world for fighting games is going to get really interesting.
Ps4 better improve their internet play at least.
With all that streaming and uploading I can’t see that improving online play at all. I like the upload thing though. It’s a bit of a hassle making vids currently.

One of the major issues with what the PS4 wants to do is that the internet infrastructure for North America is straight up ass. I can’t really see how it’ll be able to pull off the things it’s promising, such as being able to play a game while it’s downloading.

Depending on the level of control the PS4 is going to give you for streaming, I highly doubt it’ll revolutionize streaming for competitive games at events, such as tournaments. What it does allow for<span style=“font-family: ‘lucida grande’, ‘Lucida Sans Unicode’, tahoma, sans-serif; line-height: 1.7em;”> is making streaming for joe schmoe extremely easy, as they no longer need to buy the $100-$1000+ of equipment/licenses (outside of the PS4 cost) and the technical knowledge required to run/troubleshoot a stream. It just means we’ll have more casual gamers streaming random play through’s or online experiences. In the case of the fighting games, it really just means more people can upload matches to youtube or stream their lobbies/rank/training mode stuff. For fighting games, it’ll obviously add more delay to online matches because of the increase bandwidth consumption but we probably won’t see a performance impact on FPS’ or other gaming genres.

Technology wise, the PS4 is actually quite impressive and what game developers are trying to do with their games is really nice (I’m looking at you Media Molecule); however, whether a developer can follow through is a whole different thing. I got the same awe inspiring feeling when the PS3 was first announced and they were showcasing what the system was capable of. Some of the games that were really impressive got cancelled midway through development, while others couldn’t follow through with what was shown. While I did like the games that were show cased at the conference last night I’m wondering how many of them will be able to deliver.

GGs at Jon’s last night everyone.
