Hello Everyone,
I am the other guy you don’t hear much about/from. I am the graphics guy that did the images for these apps with purbeast.
Today I received an e-mail from youtube saying that my video has been pulled due to copy-write infringement reported by Capcom. This was merely a camcorder video of the application running on my Android phone. I can only assume the app will be next.
I was baffled, and shocked. Let me re-iterate on what pur said in his original post. All the graphics are 100% original created by me. Nothing was taken or re-used from Capcom. I made the logos look very close to the originals on our about page, but they are not 1:1 and were created by me in photoshop.
When the SSF4 app was originally created, Capcom smacked it down off the Android market as well. Purbeast had done a nice job using some of the official artwork on his app but apparently Capcom wasn’t thrilled with it. When this happened, because Pur is a good guy and I’ve known him for 10+ years I decided to step up to the plate and help out with some original artwork so that these handy apps would be available to the community that I very much enjoy being a part of.
As far as I am aware… look and feel can’t be patented or copy-written. If I am wrong please correct me. Youtube makes it absolutely impossible to contact them regarding any information about WHY this was taken down other than filing an official document disclosing far more personal information than I care to give.
The bottom line is… I volunteered a lot of my time on this application trying to give back to the community. I am not receiving any money for my work and all I cared about was doing something to give to the community. (Pur’s picking up my alcohol tab at EVO)
I have always been a avid Capcom fan but I have to be honest this is a little bit of a slap in the face.

I downloaded it for android, but I expected to be promoted to update to 1.02 by now. Should I delete and reinstall it?
Well those images would still technically be considered a Derivative work without enough transformative properties, but you could claim Fair Use in defense. This brings up a question though. Is the app being sold for profit? Because if it is then Fair Use as a legal defense becomes a lot weaker.

I’ll stick to the free Shoryuken Wiki. I can even click on the YT vids on the wiki to view them.

Hi Purebeast. Whats going on with the app for ios? I’ve downloaded it from the UK iTunes on the day of release and was expecting the updates as you stated and it appears it has been removed from the UK store. Can you please confirm this? thanks.
It has been pulled temporarily until I figure some things out. I really don’t want to get into any detail at this point. I’ll keep the thread updated when I can.

Bad news 
I really didn’t like the graphics (especially the colors which made character names unreadable), but it still does suck huge times. How will you handle this ?
Searched through the iPhone and found it right away. Clicked the link to direct my computer to the app in iTunes and it says it doesn’t exist in the US server. Weird.
Hope you guys can figure it out. It’s a great app with a lot of potential.
