having gg slash at 5pm on a fri prolly isn’t gonna work either, why not have it on sunday - last year i ran #reload with 3 systems and i finished in 4 hours, the guilty gear people are good about bringing their own stuff so i doubt it’ll take away from any tourney. having it on the afternoon of a fri is just asking for no one to show up
seriously what was wrong last year pools format for cvs2? it worked nicely, and espically since it’s console you could get it done very quickly.
same goes with ST on sunday, why not saturday - most of the people who play the game are older and i bet they’d wanna have it on saturday so they can enjoy the rest of their holiday with their families
I mean here’s a revised schedule I think would be better - if you don’t agree whatever but I have helped with ECC for a while and run many tournaments at the break in the last 5 years, so i hope i know a lil about scheduling and such
Friday:
CVS2 Teams - 8pm
MVC2 Teams - 8pm
Saturday:
3S (Arcade - tons of flaws were pointed out with the console version and I believe there’s access to 2 boards, possibly 3) - 12pm pool style, top 16 play that night at 7pm
CVS2 (Console) - 12pm pool style, top 16 play on Sunday
Tekken 5 - 1pm (console - pool style), top 16 play that night
St - 3pm (regular double elim - 3 out of 5 matches, final are 4 out of 7)
Throw in MVC2 and any random 5 on 5’s + money matches + finish team tournaments on Saturday
Sunday:
MVC2 - 12pm (pools, same as last year, top 16 play at 8pm)
Guilty Gear Slash - 1pm (double elim, or pools depending on # of entrants)
CVS2 Top 16 - 12pm
The only problem I see is DOA4, reason being the people who prolly will want to enter DOA4 mostly play Tekken, but most of the TV’s will be tied up with Tekken/CVS2. I could see DOA4 starting as soon as Tekken is winding down, use the extra TVs for that.
Anyway I think this schedule makes more sense and is more balanced, I don’t see your schedule working at all

I hate the fact that MvC2 will be on Sunday and the top 16 play at 8 pm. It is way too late for me to leave NJ by that time and staying till Monday is not an option. Sunday should be the day that everybody is finishing up, not starting. Instead of planning the tournies to start on Sunday, Saturday should atleast start the pools.
I dunno, I really do not want to spend 4 days in New Jershey.
See the thing about having all of marvel in one day seems kind of sketchy. Marvel will already run late enough and some people will have flights to catch the next day and from past experiences with large tournies, they never run on time.
But I guess it could work out alright if all of CvS2 pools are finished on saturday. . .

Marvel was one day last year and it worked out fine
Marvel usually goes quickly, the only problem is getting the players to show up on time, they’re habitually late
8pm is just an estimate for the start time, once the final 16 are done i estimate 2 hours to finish it
(use 2 machines until we’re done to top 4 which will be played out on the big machine)
so the whole tournament will be done at 10pm
if the pools go quicker 8pm could be pushed back to 7 or 6 and get us out of there even earlier
Sigley’s schedule sounds much more reasonable.
I’d go with that as well.
I’ve already talked to some GG folks who actually LIVE in NJ and they won’t be able to attend if its held on Friday. Putting it on Sunday is best I think. Everything else should run fine, there wasn’t many problems last year with this schedule, if any.
As for DoA4, well the 9 people who end up entering (myself included) can wait it out.

We had a vote for 3s console vs arcade. The vote for console was overwhelming. I play 3s myself. I have no preference. But the votes on SRK speak for themselves. I’ve spoken to top 3s players on this issue for some input and for the most part they really dont mind it being console. To be honest outside flash / pyrolee I’ve never heard anyone shit about 3s being console.
I haven’t heard anyone who play ST complain about it being sunday. I was with Jason cole 4 days ago. The guy cant wait to get to ecc for ST. I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure ST is always sunday at ecc. The tournament runs fast enough that it does not have to be crammed into an already busy saturday.
We originally werent going to do GG slash at all. But we found space for it friday. If you think that will turn people off your sadly mistaken. Both phil and myself just got back from TS6. GG slash was friday evening. The tourney was huge. It didnt end until 8:30am saturday morning. Doesnt sound like lack of interest to me.
I originally wanted to do marvel in one day on Sunday. Phi (former ECC organizer) brought to my attention what a horrible idea that was. I actually witnessed this first hand having helped run marvel at ts6. After doing pools ALL day players are burned out. It kills you when you have to play when you dont want to. This can/will cripple your performance. I’ve been there.
CVS2 is known for taking forever and in the process holding players from playing other games. We want to get it out of the way asap. I know we have it posted as just being saturday but really thats just us being optimistic. It will most likey carry over into early sunday just like at every other tourney. It fucking took forever last year and it was one game
As for tekken… tekken players take over space for their tournaments. Having tekken run along any other console tounament is asking for disaster. Especially in a small arcade like the break.

I really don’t have an interest in a side bet. I know my boys are already going into the fight as an underdog. I just wanted them to get a crack at two US powerhouses while we’re there.
If you play that much poker, you’d know that you don’t bet 100x the pot when your opponent is throwing out a feeler bet.
