EAT CHAIN! -The Ghost Rider Combo/Strategy Thread

I just started playing GR again. I paired him with Strange(B) and Dorm(A). S.:h::h:xx:qcb::l: :a2: b.:h: :h::qcb::l: :a1: b.:h: (wait until about the 27th hit) :dp::m: (dash optional) :qcb::l: into either super.

Bike super with DHC into Strange gets about 840 with mashing. :qcf::l: into Chain Super gets about 890 with DHC into Strange with mashing.

I’m sure if you switch Dorm to second, the damage output will increase because you’ll be going into Chaotic Flame. Hopefully this still works, or at least a variation of this. And if this was already know, my bad.

Anyone knows if GR can link 2 Supers? Example, first bike and than hellfire maelstorm? Ofc, without using setups like V.Joe’s Slow :wink:

I enjoy this combo! anyway that I can fit modok’s beam or bomb assist in here? i’m guessing I could maybe do H, H+bomb (at the very end after missiles are hitting), qcb+L?

Not sure… or maybe after teh final qcb+L, i can call bomb, then qcf+L otg ? hmmmm

That’s the only thing I could come up with and even then you can ONLY end in QCB+M. If you use Plasma Beam (which I use and prefer for my team) you can do easy and damaging BnBs with the Bomb, but since ur using MODOK second I’m guessing, the Missiles probably help your team out better. If I figure anything out I’ll let you know.

thanks bro, i tested my day 2 ghost rider on some friends and i did much better than i thought. maybe i can get some vids up. clearly i need a lot of work as i dont know what normals to use etc but he’s pretty trollish.

Not the best play i would guess but i did the combo at approx 1:00 in!!! woot!

Haha that was nice! I would recommend after the QCB+L to go straight into bike then DHC to the Body attack super since HPB does ass damage. I would of liked to see a little more of B+H since it can nullify projectiles, also remember that Ghost Rider has a special back dash that can easily be done just by holding back and pressing either L+H, M+H, or L+M+H! Just keep playing and you will eventually get the hang of what to do with Ghost Rider since he is fairly easy to use :slight_smile:

Im gonna drop doom for someone else because my viewers are tired of seeing doom. i might rock phoenix wright but Dr strange haggar or shuma seem like better characters to compliment ghost rider . any opinions?

well I use shuma and Mystic Ray is an Amazing assist so I definitely recommend using him. Phoenix Wright would be cool since he has a low hitting assist and I’ve always wanted to use him. Bolts help are excellent as well as Lariat with Haggar so you really can’t go wrong with any of those characters (unless you completely suck with them but you can always learn :D)

If you see a lot of people jumping around, surprise them with QCB+M, go for lows too and try to kara c.M to QCB+H, oh and call Missiles more… thats all i got

Impractical assists but very good combos actually i might try that with Log Trap and Mystic Ray. Nice one

Yeah… It’s kind of sad that Ghost Rider does poor damage even with impractical assists, lol.

Would it be wildly untrue to say that he doesnt actually do little damage, but he has no options to extend his combos in any real way than HH, wallbounce, S jMMS, OTG super?

It kind if amounts to the same thing I suppose. That seems like a reasonable way to look at it though. For what you are doing the damage output is good, but he has an extremely low ceiling so there’s no way for better players to get more out of him.

I had some fun in the lab with him tho, just trying out combos. Nemesis and him have pretty good synergy. I like to use the Rocket launcher assist, and you can combo with that from :H::a1:H: (rocket hits) :H::H: :qcb:+:L: - then i used :b::H:+:A2: (wallsplat assist) into :H::H::S: J. :m::m::S: :QCF:+:L: xx :QCF:+:ATK::ATK:

i’ve switched to beam instead of missiles. it isn’t as swag but its much easier to open opponents up. can you give me the notation for an “easy and damaging BNB” using bomb? i’m assuming its probably something along the lines of h,h dp+L, h,h+ bomb assist, qcb+L, lands on bomb qcb+M into dp+atk atk?
if so, then that is VERY helpful because I could also change doom with frank west and get level 4 off of this… but let me know if there is a better combo… i haven’t even tested this combo, i’m just theory crafting.

Sorry for the double post but I have a question about the bike super. Is OTG’ing with it screen specific? for instance, if I end a combo with qcb+M midscreen, I’m unable to follow up and hit the opponent with the bike super… is this corner only?

I ask this because I"m trying to find an effective way to dhc into frank west from anywhere on the screen with this team ghost rider/frank west/dr doom

I’ve been using beam just for the utility, but if i can consistently land a combo so that I can end with the bike super, then yes missiles would be considerably better. however that hasn’t been the case. wodnering if its just a timing thing that I dont’ got down or a property of the bike super that i’m lacking.,

I can do it just fine midscreen, i usually do qcb+M dash super~ S xx sphere flame

oh is the dash necessary?! fuck no wonder why it hasn’t been working… damn guess back to hidden missiles LOL
