EAT CHAIN! -The Ghost Rider Combo/Strategy Thread

I saw Filipino Champ running Ghost Rider/Sentinel/Phoenix tonight and was inspired to create this combo.

Using the hell spire otg in the corner gives you the possiblity of an air throw reset

Ghost Rider 1 Million Damage. 2 Assists, 2 DHCs, 1 Meter Gain and No XFactor. Took a couple hours to figure out the mechanics behind making these assists work.

I have a request - could you try extending combos with Storm? I’ve tried briefly to time her 3 different assists at different points in GR’s combos, but they all knock characters out of hitstun too quickly for a followup chain grab. I think the most you can do is OTG Hellfire + Lightning Attack into Hellfire Maelstrom.

They do about the same damage, just distributed a little differently. The timing for calling out slant shot is instantly before Spire, any other timing and the flames will cause the opp. to drop out of the grapple

Still looking for ways to optimize and such, but these are just stuff I’ve found the most reliable off practical situations since day 0

I’m gonna try GR/Storm/Sent and GR/Dormmamu/Sent. The latter is pretty much figured out haha. I’m also thinking of messing with Wesker in the anchor slot.

I would try Ghost/Haggar/???

Lariat still remains one of the best “Get Off Me!” assist and Haggar can built a lot of meter, which is good for keep Penance Stare charged

Any suggestion for the third and for the Ghost assist?

Man you weren’t kidding about Storm. I could not put any assist in the middle of a combo. I could only end combos with her!

Honestly Dormamu and Sentinel are looking like his best friends right now.

Thor also seems to have amazing synergy with GR right now. I usually GR on point with Thor on anchor. Mighty Smash is a great combo starter and extender. I still need a middle person so if anyone could suggest someone I’ll try it.

Good stuff dude. Slant Shot is such an amazing assist for extending GR’s combos. If you have Spencer in the second slot, DHCing into Bionic Maneuvers is some serious damage.

My combo was with Doom hidden missiles assist.

H, Assist, Rage Whip into a second H, Rage Whip, wallbounce, Chaos Bringer, OTG, super seems to be pretty much universal for any assist that hits in front of him. The damage varies, of course. I just managed to do 697k damage with X-23’s Ankle Slice assist, but with Doom’s Plasma Beam, although easier to execute, deals a lot less damage.

Edit: Forgot to mention I’m not sure if I fully mashed Ghost Rider’s super. I’m pretty bad at that.

Not that this is a GR combo, but I’ve been using Chain of Rebuttal as GR’s assist of choice because it allows for greater combo-ability with Dormammu. Just something to keep in mind, because both Heartless Spire and Hellfire have too short of a range and too long of a startup for mid-screen combo extensions.

I run ghost rider with doctor strange (eye of agamoto) and dr doom (missiles), here are the combos I use so far, both of these can DHC into my other characters’ supers for an additional 230k-ish:

Midscreen :

Corner :

Okay, expanding what I said in my last post, now using two assists:

:h:, Ankle Slice assist, delayed :h:, :h:, :h:, :dp:+:l:, :h:, :h:, :qcb:+:l:, Plasma Beam assist, :b:+:h:, :h:, :h:, :qcb:+:l:, :qcf:+:l:, :qcf:+ :atk: :atk:

757k damage, very standard combo. I suppose launching in the middle would’ve done more damage, but having to move with Ghost Rider is incredibly inconvenient, even mid-combo. Uses two assist, but these two aren’t exactly the biggest help for Ghost Rider outside of combos.

Where in the combo are you using it? I tried it for a bit and couldn’t really come up with anything, in the meantime I’ve been using heartless spire which only extends combos slightly in the corner

You need to time Flame Carpet with Chain of Rebuttal. As soon as you end your air series with j.:s:, land and hit :a1:. Wait till Ghost Rider appears on screen, then hit :df::h: to OTG your opponent. Chain of Rebuttal should smack them in the face for an untechable wall bounce. If you’re full screen, you can Dark Hole into Chaotic Flame. Otherwise, if you’re in a corner, you can go into another magic series. There might be some combos involving Dark Matter cancels, but I haven’t spent the time to figure those out yet.
