Easy mode top tier team

i’m thinking of getting into mvc2 but don’t have the time on my hands to master characters i believe to be difficult like magneto. i want to find a team i can play and do reasonably well in without spending hours in training mode. e.g. teams based upon zoning and not crazy reflexes.

My guesses for such teams are:
Spiral, Cable, Sent

characters:
blackheart, cyc,

Not sure about the list, but any comments welcome.

basically
sent/cable/capcom
u can replace capcom with bh or cyke

spiral/cable/sent is good but u have to know a lil bit about spiral

Uh, if you don’t want a team that requires execution and reflexes, you need to play another game. Something other than a fighting game at that.

There IS NO team that does not take considerable practice, but the closest thing to that is team Scrub imo.

Cable (B)/Sent(a)or sometimes (y)/ CapCom (b)

Blackheart and Spiral have clear patterns that get them owned up pretty hard if you’re not actually good.

Team Scrub with drones is a pretty great starting point. Storm/Sent-Y/Cable-B is also a very very nice “easy mode” team - probably my choice for overall “least effort required to win against good players” team.

msp after a few hours in training mode

Spiral is a difficult character to use. Definately not easy mode.

eh, depends on how you look at it.

DANCING SWORD!

jab, jab, jab, jab, assist, jab, DANCING SWORD, repeat. Teleport when they get close or try to punish you. Spiral is a cheap bitch. Like a strider that doesn’t have to eat up meter.

he’d get outzoned, and his psylocke will probably die against good players. the team has it’s strengths for beginners, but definately some weaknesses

Storm is easy to use? I have pretty good execution in old school tactics (ST, A2), but not so much experience in this Versus genre. I wasn’t so great at trying to play GGXX/ in terms of FRC, JC, iAD techniques. Hence I think I’d suck at Marvel unless there’s a way to slow the pace of the game down.

I don’t mind learning the “game.” That is playing the god damn game against players. I just don’t want to spend hours in training mode. e.g. In 3S chun, ken, yang, are easymode IMO. They take no real practice in training mode. Urien and Yun are top but take hours in training mode. You ain’t gonna pull off shit like RX even in training mode consistnely without putting in the time - and you have to remember that his corner combos don’t actually work for all characters.

generally yes, if you don’t play her to her full potential…like not too much rush-down triangle jumps yet (but go for it)

great attacks, runaway/keepaway…hail…HAA!

Really it just takes practice, and no not in practice mode and no not against the computer but playing against other players. Learn the combos in practice mode, then go and play against people and try to use them, you can use any character to do this. I’ve been playing the game since 2000 and there’s no team that I could tell you that is easy to own with. There are easy to play characters like Cable, but you have to pick it up and play against others. Just play and figure out what works best. Read on a FAQ on combos and then try them out and see what works.

AC into LA, runaway, hailstorm, chip= my storm.

Can’t rush with her too well. She’s easy to use because she almost always controls how fast or slow the match goes.

anyone ever think about megaman/spiral/sent

megaman/sent has to be like spiral/sent junior.

u will definately have tons of meter though.

if you want storm. then try

cable** / storm[a] or [y] / capcom**. This should be a good start.

m1kekim, you sound like my brother, Josh? is that you? :wonder:
Eh! you member that speech i gave you a couple days ago? about hitting a brick wall in life and how that applies to marvel? obstacles? whatever…

Yes you can pick characters whos team chemistry will have a certain effect on the way match is played, but what do you do when you fail? which you will. If you choose to stick with a team, or an extremely limited set of characters…your options will be limited until you get more experience more skill and more knowledge, all of which takes alot of time and effort. That is why team scrub is good, it gives you the most potent set of noob options with a limited group of characters. But the likelyhood that those three characters will end up as your favorite characters is not likely.

What do you think your most effective team is?
What are your favorite characters?
What color panties is your mother wearing?

All important questions to ask yourself.

God no MSP is not a beginner team.

Team Scrub is called scrub for a reason… then again Sentinel is not really scrub friendly.

Marvel is deep, execution and strategy wise. If you’re not willing to put in time to get good, pick up another game. The more you practice, the better you become. Simple fact that can be applied across the board in almost any situation other than fighting games.

pound for pound, I’d say the easiest team in marvel is probably cable\storm\AA.

this is a good team for beginners, cuz cable’s ahvb and storm’s hailstorm are good supers, plus they are user friendly compared to mag or sent who require more work to use them correctly.

Toss in CapCom, Cyke or some other AAA and you’re good to go

I agree and prefer Cyke instead of capcom.

Yeah, it’s definatly a toss up between thos two.

Capcom has an assist that’s overall easier to use for both thos characters. Cyke it s a little bit easier to combo from.

Both provide free supers for cable and storm and both lead to stupid damage.
