I know there have to be more players around the Salisbury area on the Eastern Shore. If you live around this area hit this thread up and lets try to get an actual scene going around here.

Seriously people, we have a small but dedicated group of people who love to play anything ranging from SSFIV (current primary game), BB:CS, MB:AA, AH3, 3S, CVS2, MVC 2 and even a few people who would play TVC. We want to grow the fighting game scene around here and want to get some tournaments running so be heard and lets do this!
I am pretty much the brunt of the everything other than SSF4 community
Basically, you’re the brunt of everything other than SSFIV and 3S, pretty much everything other than Street Fighter.
Also for anyone interested, a group of local guys who go by the name Small Town Gaming, are hosting a SSFIV tournament on November 19th at the public library in Seaford, DE. Its going to be standard tournament rules (2/3 double elimination) and I believe they are running a HD Remix tournament and a SSBB tournament. The tournament is going to kick off around 7pm and I’ll post more details once I talk to one of the guys about entry fees and payouts. It would be great if we could get a nice turnout for this event and actually have a decently sized tournament.
The tournament is going to be on November 19th at the Seaford Public Library. I just got off the phone with the guy running the tournament. Basically, he was planning on running the tournament on 360. The tournament is definitely going to be 2/3 rounds 2/3 matches double elimination. The winners finals are going to be 2/3 rounds 3/5 matches. Unfortunately, he was pretty adamant about the grand finals being one 5/7 match. He said it was tradition in their group to do it this way and I wasn’t able to talk him out of it.
As far as prize support goes, he said that they can’t really say what the prize pool is going to be. The tournament is $10 to play in but he said that they have to pay the venue and various other things so they can’t commit to what the prize will be. It also looks like they are only going to do winner takes all. I hope to talk to him tomorrow and try to change that but right now thats what it looks like. Thats pretty disappointing but I do understand from their perspective that they are putting money into the tournament and they don’t want to end up in the red like they have with past tournaments as there are a lot of costs and time on their end that go into making these things happen.
They are also planning on running a side HDR tournament on 360 thats free to enter. Its going to be single elimination and the prize is going to be a $20 to $25 gift card to Gamestop.
They are also going to run a king of the couch event in a mystery fighting game. It looks like it will be anything from SSBB, TvC, or 3S. I don’t know about a prize for that but I think they typically make a trophy or something.
He said pre-reg is going to be between 5-6:00 with the tournament starting promptly at 6. They only have the place booked until 11 so they have to be pretty strict on start times. If you have any more questions you want me to ask him I will be sure to do so. I want to make sure that you guys are well informed on this tournament and that its worth your while to come down here.
