top 8 should all be put into a tournament to determine the 4 spots. (and 2 of the people who were getting auto spots are garunteed to go to this tourney so i see no issue with them competing)
ive never placed top 8 in any of these, so naturally i would not qualify, but imo this would make spots fairer, and we dont get auto marn or joe. nestor has a very powerful sagat and as much as i think joe is the shit i think its unfair to just automatically give it to him. likewise marn isnt the only sick balrog on the east coast. however justin is the team captain and ultimately he makes the final call.
in a sagat mirror tourney i could get lucky and peace out joe. but i have never fought a good guile, i have never fought a sick vega. what if i end up fighting one of these in the 5v5? mirror matches prove nothing in a matchup based game.

recent tourney placing mean something and then in a way they dont
imo we should send our best players PERIOD. as it is right now Justin, Joe and Marn are our big 3. They should be automatic. They are the only three who beat any of the cali players that came through for Final Round and Sinsation. I think Arturo has a sick dhalsim and should be automatic also but he’s playing for a spot so right now i think the big 3 should be automatic. joe and Marn earned it imo.
also factor in our competiton. that west coast team is fuckin deadly. We need our best to compete. what if i happen to get lucky (extremely lucky lol) and beat joe in the qualifier, i shouldnt be on the team because its possible i just got lucky that day. joe’s done something i never did and he beat combofiend and gootecks at sinsastion.(2v2)
Marn has the best rog on our coast with DS as 2nd imo.
(then again its very, very possible i dont know what the fuck i’m talking about

Making top 3 in local ec tourneys don’t count because lots of other people has done this too, hence eric v, eric kim, dr chaos, nestor, and etc. I am only counting major tourneys that top 3 matters, hence final round, sinsation, nec, winter brawl and that is why joe and marn are on the team.
So no free rog/sagat tourney for anyone because this qualifier ain’t a democracy and I am giving 2 qualifiers anyways for the next 2 candidate so I hope everyone practices hard for this

This is some real comedic shit going on here. I want to make one thing very clear before i begin. I know justin on a personal level, we aint best friends and his mom dont kiss me on the cheek and pat me on the head when she see’s me but we’re cool and i like to think there is a mutual respect between us. One thing I do about him is he is NOT in the business of losing. That being said if given the opportunity to be captain of the single East Coast team going up against not 1, but 2 california teams at EVO why would be be a dummy and select players to be on his team that he didnt think actually gave him a chance to PROVE east coast owns Street Fighter 4 hands down.
If there were two people better than Joe and Marn with sagat and balrog its pretty safe to say justin would have them on the team instead. This is on top of the fact that if justin can clearly be named as captain where no one complains why would anyone question his decisions as far as team mates if his only goal has always been “WIN”. Everyone that is low level to intermediate/semi advanced “i talk more than i play” needs to stop getting involved in grown peoples business because its shit like that is going to throw a monkey wrench in everything and fuck up our chances for having the best showing at Evo as a coast. Go check west coast threads and see how much they are bitching about their selected players for their North and South teams… Exactly no one is saying SHIT! the indians follow the chiefs over there not the other way around. For the people that dont like what im posting realize one universal truth right now every single person on both cali teams were hand picked by their respective captains… there was NO tourny or play off and it was NOT up for debate it wasnt about friendships its about winning the friends can help celebrate after the win. All the wannabe superstars should be kissing justins hairy fuckin bean bag for even leaving the last two spots up for grabs as opposed to just naming Arturo and who ever else comes behind him as far as skill level goes. This whole argument is bullshit started by haters and people looking to be part of the problem and not the solution. The reason why east coast is looked at as a joke is because we can never agree on anything even when someone thats clearly more informed than you is telling you what the best thing to do is.

I really don’t know why people are complaining about the spots people should be lucky justin is even letting people on the team. He could have simply just picked 2 other people and not even say shit. So i say 2 spots is good enough. If people really want the spots that bad…just win…seriously.
