Easiest Japanese setup for Inf

I did a search on this and found a bunch of SJ.cancel setups but my question is, which is the easiest one? Also, can somene go through it step by step…i have trouble after the first sj.jab because whenever i try and dash down i hit sj. DF+Fierce which pisses me off. I got the other solo setups down pretty well and i think this one looks pretty cool so i’d like some help:D …thanks

Hey shortboi, this is what I, and most likely everyone else, does for the setup. Imo the hardest part about it is learning how to sj. cancel the c.lp, after that it’s simple.

Here’s the most common setup:

c.lk, c.lp, sj cancel, sj.lp, ad/f, sj.lp, sj.fp (u+f one), then inf.

1). c.lk, hk, sj ,neutral fp/adf, lp, lp up+fp then inf

2).c.lk, hk, sj, down+fp/addf, lk, lk, up+fp then inf

3).c.lk ,hk, sj, up+fp /add, lp, up+fp then inf

4).c.lk ,hk, sj, neutral fp/adf, lk, up+fp then inf

5).c.lk ,hk, sj, lp, add or addf lp, up+fp them inf… NOTE this one is tricky but if the numbers dont connect then u can cross em over and still land inf… i like this one cause i can do a alot of things with that set up, just my opinion

I have found that it is easiest to super jump cancel to sj. lk (rather than lp) then air dash straight up , lp, up+hp, start infinite. This set-up is way easier to execute, but has a little more timing to it–as opposed to the regular sj. cancel set-up, which has more difficult execution, but very leniant timing.

As a note, this is easier because you don’t have to worry about anything else coming out (like that stupid lp unibeam :mad: ) and the sj. lk hits way easier than sj. lp. Also, you just hold up the entire time (until you actually start the infinite).

It’s funny that I actually came up w/ my own stupid messed up set-up before I was even able to half-way get the normal set-up.

sj.lk also has longer hitstun than sj.lp, which makes it a little easier to combo. I usually use sj.lk also, but I airdash forward-- if you time it right it can cross them up for a reset, but it’s usually better to just go straight into the inf (IM doesn’t really need to reset anyway).

I really wanna try it with :lk: but my stick is out of commission for now…cant wait to get it working again though. Thanks a lot for addin stuff in guys…keep it up.

I’m having trouble doing the super jump cancel, is there anything special in canceling it? I’m tying this combo

I can do up to the add part and when i try to hit them with lp it doesn’t connect. any help or videos I should watch?

Well against Sentinel it always works so keep that in mind it is useful these days. Take it at mild speed. Don’t try and pull off the first up HP to fast. When dashing straight down quickly press lp then up HP

Is neutral fp = forward punch with no diagno?

I’ll break it down further.

Basically the set up is like this:
c.lp, c.mp, sj.lp, addf, sj.mp, up+hp, inf

Since you have already seen that it’s nothing new, but the trick is when to hit lp after the sj. That’s the whole point of the setup and the whole trick. It takes a long time to get that shit down but once you start getting it, you will see things in a different light. The infinite setup will look slower and you will be able to notice your timing etc. Just takes practice.

That doesnt even look like a combo to me. I think your trying to do:
c.lk, s.hk, sj, straigh+hp, addf, sj.lk, sj.mk, up+hp, inf

That is the easiest IM setup in the game (alone). After the sj, your doing up+hp, which is incorrect unless you want to do his semi-air infinite. Because i’m pretty sure after an up+hp you can’t combo unless you ad.

If your trying to do his semi-air infinite is:
c.lk, s.hk, sj.lk, up+hp, aduf, sj.lk, up+hp, fly, sj.lk, sj.hp, unfly, up+hp, aduf, repeat.

This only works on certain characters or if you launch them high enough. It’s mostly used to catching characters mid-air, kind of like storm floating and hitting lk.

i only use this setup and if im lucky and get a s.fk i’ll use that setup.

try practicing

c.lk, c.mp SJC sj.lk or
c.lk, c.mp SJC sj.lp

Its also worth mention that if you have unfly you can flyxx instead of SJC. I never do it cause im so used to SJC, but it is easier.

there another setup and goes c.lk, c.lp SJC right away lk, lk ad/df jab, jab, up+fierce or jab , up+fierce then inf… and another one that goes c.lk ,c.lp SJC lk ad/up quickly cancel into jab, jab, up+fierce then inf.

The easiest way to practice the Crouch Cancel setup is to Tiger Knee backwards the sj. lp when canceling from the c. lp. So, it would be like this:

c.lk, c.lp xx tiger knee backwards lp xx air dash df lp, up fp, land -> infinite.

When you get that down, then you can practice it manually.

That is a legit combo that works, it’s just the timing of the air dash lp that you need to get down. I find it easier to launch up fp xx air dash down back lp to work easier (it’s all preference I guess). I think Illan uses the dash down lp setup, so youtube his videos and check those out.

well i use this setup all the time its probably one of the easiest inf. setups involving a launch… if it not connecting its because after u launch,sj ur probably canceling into up+fierce right away! wat u wanna do is any hit on the ground then hk/launch, sj, dont up+fierce right away, DELAY the up+fierce a slight bit so that u hit the character at the highest point that u can, then air dash down cancel into lp … quick pause like a split sec then do up+fierce then go into the inf. keep in mind that if u do the ad/d lp, up+fierce too quick u wont connect into the inf. so good luck with that inf. setup and i hope u get it down… as for sj canceling as long as u tap lp right when u sj u should get it and as soon as u see jab hit dash and dont wait to see the air dash right away dash and do lp, up+fierce then when u land just normal jump and do the inf…

u can watch that tricks of the trade chapter three and it has the sj canceling!! its on iron man so u can learn some new things from it…
