I have black Smokin’ Buds from Skullcandy. People are TOO surprised by the bass these things give off.
And recommending Koss…:shake:

Best ear buds money can buy, retail is like 450-500, on amazon right now is like 280ish, complete isolation from the world with modifiable ear pieces from foam to flanges. If I were ever to get ear buds, I’ll pick these up in a heartbeat, but I’m a headphones person.
Please don’t hate on Koss. The KSC line (Portapro, sportapro, KSC 35/75) have some of the best sq you can get under $100. Ask anyone on Head-Fi. Of course the $5 Koss earphones with sharp edges that dig into your ear is gonna be shit.
you want to get IEM’s, not ear buds.
if your price range is around 100 bucks, Westone UM1s are worth your money. good seal, sound amazing, free warranty, will last you. if you get them though, i suggest getting some shure olive tips, the ones that come with it make a nice seal, but wear out quickly. once you get used to nice IEM’s, you wont want to even see an earbud again.
IEMs are In Ear Monitors by the way.
agreed.
if you want sound quality, a cheap pair of head phones will always sound better than a good pair of ear buds. id go with over-ear head phones almost all the time. but if size and portability is important to you, then id go with philips or sony, they tend to make better built ear buds thatll last a while longer and put out more bass than most.
The IEMs are a much better idea then the Ear Buds. When home I like over ear head phones but those don;t travel well. Soony does make a good line of small, good sounding Head Phones. Philips also has a nice pair that put out pretty decent sound for 15 bucks. Called the SH55200. Picked em up couple weeks ago for when I’m at work at the end day. They travel well and are durable with good sound. Not epic sound but good sound. For times when I am traveling or something I’ll use my IEMs. These things make plane rides and long car drives like when you don’t wanna wake people up or something ans they sound amazing. i would never use them for romping around school campus or at work or something. Be too paranoid someone would jack em or something.

Check out any type of in-the-ear (Shut up) earbuds. They don’t fall out, maintain musical integrity/clarity, and come pretty cheap. Also, since they’re in your ear (Shut the fuck up) they have a natural noise-cancelling effect.
I don’t think he wants IEMs since he stated that he needs to be able to hear at work.
