Less than 2 months away to June…you know what time it is!
This year more than likely won’t carry as much hype as for the first time ever Sony is not taking part in E3…like at all. This isn’t like a ‘we’re pulling a Nintendo and cutting our conference but still being there’ deal they’re legit not here this year. So potentially the main sources of hype now rest mostly on the shoulders of Nintendo and Microsoft this year.

Date: E3 will officially be going on from June 11th to June 13th this year. Of course this doesn’t include what any other conferences that may happen before these days. Dates for conferences and events will be placed below.

Team Ninja has been still pretty silent about this. No other rumors have come up pertaining to this game.

Rumors have been picking up regarding M$’s new console possibly getting shown at this year’s E3. We’ve known for a while now that they’ve been working on it and they’ve even officially came out and said so at last year’s E3 so there’s a pretty good chance of it showing up this year. Personally a bit sad that we seem to be jumping into the next generation when the stop gaps just came out 2 years ago and it still feels like there’s more that could be squeezed out of this generation but whatever…we’ll see how this goes!

Rumors for the PS5 haven’t been as prevalent as next box rumors and the chance of it showing up at E3 are definitely slim mainly since Sony is not doing a conference this year. Even though they aren’t doing a conference doesn’t mean that they may not announce something during or around the week. HIGHLY UNLIKELY though.

Nintendo possibly releasing a Switch mini and a Switch pro
This has been swirling around since around last year in some shape or form. Nintendo does do enhancements for handhelds but they’ve never done one for a home console. Nintendo considers the Switch to be a home console despite the hybrid nature of the system. If this does happen it’ll be the first time that they’ve done an enhancement for a home console. I’ve been quite hesitant to believe anything regarding this rumor but the fact is…it keeps popping up consistently. If there’s anything that’s assured about rumors in this industry is the fact that more they keep popping up without being debunked the more likely there’s some type of truth to it.
Metroid Prime Trilogy HD rumor
This has been going on for some time since last year. I’m pretty sure this is a sure thing but every time this rumor pops up that they’re finally going to announce it, it ends up not happening. Considering that Prime 4 got pushed back and we probably won’t hear anything about that for probably 2 years I’d suspect they’ll keep this under wraps until next year to help ease into Prime 4. It’d be nice if they just announced it’s existence but I’m not going to expect it.
Nintendo saving another game from doom…possibly Scalebound?
This rumor is absolutely crazy and would blow up if it were true. This would make 3 exclusive titles that Platinum would be making for Nintendo if that was the case. The game could that Nintendo is supposedly saving could easily be something else like the dead Wii game Project Hammer but when the news of Nintendo saving a game hit then rumors starting popping up that it was Scalebound.

Someone goofed and let this out of the bag, Chances of it showing up at E3 are extremely slim considering Sony isn’t doing E3 year but hey…never know? Maybe announcement around the timing of E3 without an official conference? Not expecting this…think they’ll probably save this for next year to be honest.
God of War sequel
Way to early for this. I’m not even gonna hold out there being a chance of an announcement especially this year. Probably won’t really hear real rumblings on this until maybe 2 years from now.
Retro Studios new game
Retro has been quiet for about 5 years. DKTF released for the first time back in Feb 2014 and though they’ve helped on projects here and there since and helped with the switch port for DKTF there hasn’t been much on what they’ve cooking. Rumors before involved a ‘Starfox Grand Prix’ game for a couple of years and just last year it was announced that Metroid Prime 4 had to be restarted with their help. This gift that Reggie recieved as a parting gift from the studio does look suspicious…
