Koei has been doing this franchise for years now. They are technically a division of Tecmo now. I’d be willing to bet they’ll just do it like they have in the past.
I recommend playing a previous Dynasty Warriors game to get a feel for the gameplay. Warriors Orochi 2, Samurai Warriors 2, and the Dynasty Warriors: Gundam games seem to be the most popular of the bunch.

Neither is Ninja Gaiden. Nor the new Team Ninja Metroid game. TN is a pretty flexible development group. I just don’t think Koei’s gonna pass their franchise to them.

Hokuto no Ken is a liite more niche with the US anime crowd than the Gundam crowd(Gundam has had moderate success) due to the considerable amounts of violence making it hard for it to appear on any Childrens anime block.
I got a strong feeling that it will be released over here. We got all of those Dynasty Warriors games that only a select crowd probably even play anymore. I don’t see why we couldn’t get 1 game, if its marketed the right way to the masses(Head and body explosions, blood, badass Kenshiro speeches, etc…). Make it something that everyone would want to pick up.

I will be clearer next time, but the jist of what I was saying was that TeamNinja are known for 2 games DOA and NJ, both combat (martial arts) orientated games.
Well, it’s starting to look very good, actually.
For one, the game is being released on the 360. There really wouldn’t be any point to doing anything of this sort, if this was going to be a JP-only affair, due to how the 360 isn’t THAT popular enough in the East to warrant this type of cross-platform.

All signs are pointing to that, even in spite of HnK missing out on the majority of the “Japanime boom” of the 90s, and well into the new millennium, Koei’s willing to give it a try through this game.

Only bad thing? Seemingly no original VAs. But Kenshiro is voiced by Kamina from that one show…it’s all good.

Visuals looks stunning, I know its early days but gameplay wise looks like a pile of crap, sorry but unless they actually implement some A.I wtf is the point lol. I want to see the fight against Shin, maybe that will change my opinion.
well i wouldnt be so anal with that. its a musou game not a completely new engine. to me it looks like it could be the funnest musou and HnK game so far. musou games have terrible AI for the henchmen.
dont hate on it because its beautiful. just because it looks nice, doesnt mean it just has to be eye candy. way too early for ppl to get anal about it. just be happy something new is happening with the HnK series. that is if you even cared about it in the first place.
this isnt trying to be game of the year. but i love how much it resembles HnK the series.
More or less looks just like what I expected. I’m even more excited now. The HnK fighting game withstanding, the game looks like it captures year 199X pretty well.
Anyway besides God Hand I have hard time thinking of many beat-em up, action type games that had worthwhile AI(Especially Musou games). They are out there surely, but for every 1 with good AI there’s probably 10 with dumb AI.
If I buy it, its with the expectancy that we’ll get some great boss fights. Possibly some bosses capable of killing in 1 hit just like in the show.

In my defense I did say it was early days, but reading the wiki article it says that these types of games are like this, if the game is released with the same near non existent A.I then it would be a huge disappointment - for me.
I absolutely do care, I just don’t want the HnK name slapped on just anything, it has to live up to the name, I was hoping for more (but as I understand it, this isn’t all the footage released from the press briefing). :crybaby:

Koei also invited foreign press so that probably means it’s getting an international release.
