We are talking about the Dynasty Warriors Basara game right? That shit made me cringe
…and of course 3 minutes after I say I can’t beat him and give up, I manage to defeat him…sweet…
Curious but does this game use the Renbu Engine like DW6? I have not played Gundam Musou yet, and I’m more familiar with the DW5 / Warriors Orochi engine.
Nope…no Renbu.
Going to have to relearn everything all over again! :<
I’m enjoying this game immensely. Maybe the fact that I’m a HNK nut is contributing, but I haven’t stopped playing this since I got it. There’s something amazingly satisfying about cutting through 20+ people at once with Rei.
It seems like a lot of DW fans are unimpressed with this one, while DW haters are digging it. That makes sense, but it’s not what I expected.
I hope they make a good-looking DW game one day. Not into this game at all.
DW7 is looking pretty good so far…
This really isn’t a DW game. It’s not a masher. You can play it that way, but you won’t enjoy yourself. If you want a deeper engine and you like the more unique characters and of course the source material you will love it.
If you are a DW fan then you shouldn’t play this game, which is really ironic and kinda sad.
the game is fucking awesome…when you do that button combination to finish of the boss and the screen flares and that fucking awesome guitarr going off in the background you feel like kennethshiro himself
ATATATTAATATATATATATAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!
cant wait to play Jagi
I disagree, actually. The main thing is that you have to be willing to accept Hokuto Musou as something “different”, compared to DW/SW. And to me, that’s where HM truly shines: it’s definitely its own beast; much like Gundam Musou and Capcom’s BASARA have evolved into their own beasts that take decidedly different approaches to the hack-n-slash/beat 'em up formula.
If you end up not liking any of those approaches, fine, as there’s no accounting for personal tastes. But I say at least give it a chance. Just like I was willing to give even Warriors: Troy a fair chance, until a good friend (whose opinion I trust a great deal) got to try the game at Koei’s London Expo a week ago. Now I have no reason to trust whatever may come from Koei’s “janitor team” in Canada.
It’s because HM is not DW that I love it. Basically DW fans tend to want that same ole same ole and you won’t find that here.
Hey…did anyone here who pre-ordered the game get code for Ken’s original costume?
I pre-ordered it, and I remember seeing at the Ken’s Rage site that first run copies would get Ken’s original costume code.
Maybe mine wasn’t first run?
^No Koei ripped us off on that, they stealth pulled the ad down and made it where you have to buy Kenshiro’s costume whether you have the first print disc or not, and its 2.99.
edit: That minor inconvenience aside, love the game, wish they could’ve did the evil Kenshiro dream mode they originally envisioned, but what they did and the attention to the source material is excellent
Wow…that’s some shit.
I’m not really miffed about it.
The Outlaw bonus I got basically made up for it…unlocked alot of characters from the jump.
Outlaw is stupidly good for sum reason. Like…top 3 in the game good. Wtf?
Yay…stuck at the first battle with Raoh.
I can’t seem to dodge his aura blasts.
If you’re using Kenshiro, just try to roll cancel right when he fires them, also whenever raoh has his aura just run away from him as much as possible, that’ll also give you time with the aura, and then just bumrush him with your aura when he’s down, also if you can put him into meridian shock, THEN do your aura, and finish it with a hyper signature move you’lll do a lot of damage
Also, don’t use any of the upper level spirit moves, if you have multiple spirit bars already, use them for hundred crack fists whenever Raoh’s in meridian shock, and then when you get to the last bar activate your aura, do a full normal combo, then the hyper signature move
Not true with me. I’m a huge DW fan and I love the game, mainly for Dream Mode. Dream Mode has all the musou trappings: big maps, army vs. army, base capturing, lots of generic and named officers, working alongside allies, morale system etc.
Legend Mode: For FOTN fans
Dream Mode: For musou/DW fans
Just got my Platinum for this game. Yay. Also got a time of 09:49 for the Hokuto Four challenge in my first try. I think I could get down to 06:00 easy with Raoh, but I don’t really feel the urge to do so.
