Seriously dudes use your Roll/Dash cancels when you do combos. It makes the game so much faster. The combat is as deep as you wanna make it. You wanna mash on buttons go for it. You wanna do infinites and jump cancel attacks and then dash cancel when you land into another attack to keep your combo going then the game allows you to do this as well.
I thought the demo was hype.

Except no one is “hating” on HNK Musou. Finding something you actually don’t like doesn’t make you a hater. No one called it a piece of shit or something to that extent.
I’m a big HNK fan. That’s why I know about this game. I wanted to enjoy it. That’s why I’m hoping the final product is better than this. I did what Emblem Lord did. I did more than one playthrough of each stage. Demo didn’t work out. The only things I liked about the demo:
-combos
-character models
-moves
-ENG VAs are pretty nice
-Special moves are said in Japanese
-visible damage
Wait yall do realize the game is already out right? So the actual product will probably be basically the same. I enjoyed Rei far more then Kenshiro though. He has more flow to his moves and just moved like the wind. Ken just seems all brute force although I read he gets some pretty sick moves later on. (Muso Tensai to name one.)
Yeah, I kinda forgot that I had seen footage of various HNK characters. I also did enjoy Rei more than Kenshiro because I prefer how fast he is and the range on his attacks. Plus he can air dash.

While the graphics are amazing, I’m going to pass. Once you’ve played 1 dynasty warriors, you’ve played them all.
Except this is Hokuto no Ken, and there are barely any next gen Hokuto no Ken game.
If you pass on this game, Raoh’s horse will appear in you dreams and repeatedly stomp on your nuts…EVERY night until you get the game.
That’s one thing that bothers me about the game, Kokuoh-Go. You would think the horse would instant kill people in this game, but all of it’s attacks are really weak in the game. It would’ve been great to see Kokuoh-Go get strength upgrades through Raoh and Kenshiro. I guess I’m too picky.
I got the demo last night, I had just gotten done playing sengoku boelsara prior to starting it up so i was all ZOMG THiS SHIT BE SLOWWWWWWW but reading some stuff here I think that its gonna be fun and I am wanting to give it another chance, i really wish it youwashocked me once i started it up though.
Maybe they didn’t want Roah’s horse to be too overpowered making enemy battles easier?
Oh I remember one lame gripe that I had, during the Ken/Jagi fight it seemed that a few of my man moves didn’t look like they were really hitting jagi, especially during the finisher, when playing a game on the level of manly that HNK is I kinda want a super visceral excitement that can come from loud over the top and ridiculous hits, but the finisher for the most part looked like he was swinging through jagis model and left me feeling empty inside.
I finally remembered to download the demo yesterday, and I also played it all the way through
yesterday, and I frikkin love it. (PS3)
I will admit—it’s slow. The pace of combat is nowhere near any other fighters we’re all used to,
but here’s the thing: battles on/in the anime/manga weren’t fast paced. The action was [at times]
fast, but that was it. So I’m in no way marking any points off for it.
I am a very biased however. I love the manga to death (including Fist Of The Blue Sky), and I
loved the anime(s) and movies. The martials arts in the demo and the way the characters move is
what sells me. I actually really like it. I want to buy this game, but just not at a $59.99 price point
if that’s what it’s going to retail for.
I just have to add it to my collection. It’s one of those games that has the right amount of nostalgia
and martial arts in it for me not to add it! Also, I wasn’t expecting to be able to play as any other
characters aside from Kenshiro in this demo—playing as Rei through a whole level was **way **cool!

Thats no excuse. I love, LOOOOVE the anime too and will be getting the game, if for no other reason, than to show support.
However i wish it had been faster and the characters less “stiff” in the their animations. Still, it looks like it’ll be a fun action game and the speed more manageable once i get the hang of the mechanics better.

Hey guys new the board but I got say I love “Fist of the North Star”. For years I’ve seen the name thrown around here and there but never bothered to really find out what it’s about until a couple of months ago when a youtube video but the opening at number 1. The minute I saw the animation I feel in love. I saw the entire series in a couple of months (but still watching Hnk 2) and it was satisfying. Anyway, I’m really excited for this game, I downloaded the demo on PSN was I loved. Now I hate Dynasty Warrior games, I’ve downloaded so many demos, whether it was the gundam one or just strikeforce; they were all boring, but the levels I played in Ken’s Rage were so cool that I found myself replaying this levels over and over again. Can’t wait for this game to come out.
