If Rei dies the way he died in the Anime and Manga I might actually cry tears of blood real talk. Rei was the coolest of all the characters. This game is seriously shaping up to be my game of the year I could careless if they released Halo : Insert cash in . If they let us have a duel mode and versus shit is gonna get real hectic in my house.
I am buying this game on day fucking one and playing Mamiya exclusively.

The Famitsu scans I posted tell what’s up. 1st Stage is fighting against Zeed. 2nd stage is Heart and then Shin. 3rd Stage takes it to Kiba Daio.
Unless there’s something that the Famitsu preview doesn’t tell us, it looks like the Jackal and God Army arcs may be skipped over this time around. I suppose I’ll excuse it that means we’ll have all of the Nanto men (including the Goshas, like Jyuuza), plus maybe some important bad guys like Uighur of Cassandra, Kiba Daio, Mr. Heart, and maybe even Ryuuken as an awesome secret character.
Well, the story mode is going to be a retelling of the manga storyline. You’re not going to be able to change how things worked out in that mode.
HOWEVER, Gentou/Dream mode is basically going to be a more interesting thing, where you can play as any of the playable characters as much as you want, and get different storyline outcomes. I look forward to the day I can be blindly breakdancing with Shuu. :lol:
I’d also love a Vs. mode, too. The way they showcased the Vs. Shin fight almost looked like it could be a competent and fun Vs. Fighter, if they did it correctly. 2 more months…this game is ALREADY MINE.

I saw every episode in the anime, so what does the manga have that I don’t know about
I hope it is at least like the anime,although I want the manga as I played the PSX version of FOTNS the final fight version
when you had to press certain buttons to beat a boss
The main things that are different about the original manga, as opposed to the anime can be boiled down to as follows:
a) Less filler
b) Different color/design schemes
The manga didn’t have Ken dealing with various throw-aways that supposedly made up the “108 schools of Nanto Seiken”. So, Afro guy who had the “Nanto Bell” technique? Madame Patra? etc? Not in the manga.
Color schemes may be the bigger deal. In the original manga, Rei had raven-colored hair, not blue or blue-green. Raoh was a big-ass white man with blonde hair (though now a days, they made him a platinum blonde). Jyuuza also had raven-hair, instead of the light blue.
Besides that, there were some other details that didn’t affect the story line but so much. Things like how Jackal and Colonel Golan were their own factions, instead being more Shin lackeys. Or how Raoh attained Musou Tensei. Manga said that if he killed Yuria, he wouldn’t even be able to do it, where the anime said otherwise.
Overall, I say, you do need to read the manga too. If you can a complete translation…

The “official” English translation stops around Jagi. Then it just picks up randomly from the first Raoh fight, translating to English from the French version of the manga.
I see, well on the one hand, both Golan/Goran and Jackal didn’t have an immediate affect on the main Hokuto Shinken and Nanto Seiken story connection, which is prob. why they were omitted. At the time, Hara and Bronson prob. wanted to showcase how evil and twisted this post apocalyptic world can be and those 2 villains agenda served just that.
Non the less, it would’ve been interesting to see those 2 fellas, just to ATATATATATATATATATATATATA or CHYOUOUOUOUOUOUOUOUOUOU them.
BTW so far I know Mamiya, Rei & Ken are playbale. I take it Jagi, Raoh, Toki/Jesus & Souther are playable as well? Who else is playable?
Man I dunno if I should get the JP release of wait for an English release (an English release will prob. be ready by the end of 2010 I think, the wait’d be worth it but I hope they translate it FUCKING PROPERLY.)
BTW as it stands, the original HnK manga has Vol. 1-4 fully scanlated in english whereas vol. 5-8 are NOT fully scanlated =/
The HnK Gaiden series, (they are not necessarily canon BTW), are good for the most part; especially the Rei (TITTIES!) and Toki Gaidens.

Going by this, it’s safe to confirm that Rei is voiced by Takehito Koyasu, who’s damn near done a voice in everything, he even was Kenshiro in the Shin HnK OVA. :lol:
Also, included in first print runs of the game will be a code that will allow you to access Ken’s original manga outfit (no tribal tats on the uniform). Hopefully that’s an indicator that others will have such treatment as well…and hopefully not as DLC content…
