Duke Nukem 3D: Atomic Edition is free on GOG.com COP IT SRK THIS AIN'T NO BOT!

All you have to do is take 2 minutes to make an account and verifity it. GOG games work on any Windows OS old or new, and in some cases, it’s the only way to get older games to work on newer Windows OS’s.

There’s some crazy sales on there too, like The Witcher: Enhanced Edition for 2.49.

Edit: Oh yeah, you can get the “HD” mod as well to put over this for sexier graphics. I’ll try to find a link for it.

Rant warning:

Fuck George Broussard and Randy Pitchford. The way they both fucked around with Duke Nukem Forever/etc etc. Even when it was FINALLY going to be released here they STILL had to dick around with it. Didn’t it basically take a court order to even get the game released? Then of course they had to delay it one last time before releasing it. George never ever gave a fuck and it cost him the Duke IP. And yes I used to like Duke as well. But the way they just shit all over fans yes both of them I just don’t care about Duke anymore.

Get it and let’s play old school poverty deathmatch.

Thanks for the heads up sonic. Can’t wait to play some DN3D

Grabbed it. Is there a way to get proper mouselook? Maybe there’s a mod that’s the equivalent of ZDoom I could use.

EDIT: It seems the answer is eDuke32.

I use Zdoom too. Playing Doom 1/2/Heretic/Hexen with mouselook and nicer textures is good times. Sadly, Duke Nukem “HD” pack doesn’t work with this version, and the old DOS version won’t even boot up on my Windows 7 X-64 OS. I need mouselook though, I fucking need it. I’ll try to look for mods at some point, but it’s looking grim. I tried to run Shadow Warrior too, and I can’t get it working properly either, with or without mods.

Google “eDuke32.” Problem solved.

Good looks!

Fucking GDLK, thanks, man.

www.eduke32.com <-- Download that for whatever OS you’re running, extract it to the GOG Duke folder, and BAM! Freelook+other nice perks. Freelook adds so damn much to games like these.

Now I just need to figure out how to make Shadow Warrior work on Windows 7 with freelook, then my old-school FPS game collection will be complete!

Edit: I want a freelook mod for Blood and Rise of the Triad, but I’m not sure they exist. :frowning:

There’s a 3D mod on that site too called “Polymer.” It supposedly makes Duke 3D look better graphically, but it doesn’t look that great to me. For some reason, when it comes to games like Duke 3d, Doom 1/2, ROTT, etc, I really prefer the old pixelated look+sprite work. Especially the sprites, they look great. The only exception I’ve ever made was an “HD” texture pack for Doom 1 and 2 that made the ground/wall textures really sharp, but kept that classic look intact. Still 2D, still for me.

You can turn off the model replacements on eduke32.

You have to download the extra 3D sprites/texture work seperately. I never bothered, because back when I did on my old XP rig, they looked like shit and I ended up turning them off anyway. Duke looks great in its pixelated glory.

I’m a graphics whore in some ways, but when it comes to 2D spritework, I forget my graphic-whoring PC elitist ways.

Apparently this is missing the Duke 1 and 2 that’s included in the retail edition of Atomic Edition? Guess something had to be cut to make it free.

On the fence about using the hi-rez pack. I’ve read about long load times, among other things.

How do I change the controls in DN3D?

grabbed it

Thank you! This mod really works well.

Yeah anyone know how to change the keys?

EDIT: Nvm the eduke pack fixed it.

Use eDuke32. Otherwise, you’ll have to go into the settings that’s outside of the game. Click Start > GOG > Duke 3D > Settings.

EDIT: We should try to get a multiplayer game going.

Yeah eDuke32 makes it so you can map buttons to WASD and such. The graphic mod is pretty ugly, don’t nab it.

Sexy texture packs for other shooters:

Quake 1 mods and Doom 3 mods that give it retarded graphics. Watch the videos @ 1080p and shit your pants, because when I’m playing these games released in 1996/2004 with those graphics with these mods on, I’ve sharted myself many a time.
