DUEL to the DEATH RPG Tournament

Maneuvers are like martial spells.

Every martial discipline is like a spell school, really.

“Readying” maneuvers, is like “preparing” spells. Getting back a maneuver is like getting back a spell you already cast (something that a Magus can do).

Two pre-fight buffs? #kreygasm

I assume they take up spells for the day as normal?

Yep, main thing to know is that you there are 4 classifications. Stances which are passive effects for the most part, strikes that you use attack actions with mostly, boost that are almost all swift actions that modify what you can do in a round, and then counters that are used after someone does something to you, which a lot of are immediate actions…

@waste yeah and the cool thing about this they put a lot of work into making the recovery system for the classes unique and actually useful. Like the Warlord recovers maneuvers by making really daring attacks and moves in combat that they get a bonus to, but if they fail they get a small penalty and only recover the minimum of maneuvers possible.

Then with my example build you have a stalker that can pretty much harass you while using their full defense recovery mechanic since they can make AOO while doing it. Seriously look at what I made and think about what you could do with that lol.

>> Also yes monster feats are legal if you can meet the requirements, BUT one of the requirements is having enough racial >>points to be in the monstrous tier. Standard and advanced races don’t qualify.

Well this is the feat I was looking at. You qualify and gain it not at racial creation but during regular play.

The “Monstrous” requirement reads like it applied only to racial feat selection.
I’m talking about character level progression, in case there was confusion.

You got a point there. And now that I think about it they do have spell like abilities in the normal range iirc.

Yeah feats are legal for everyone. ESPECIALLY Improve Natural Attack…why did they make that a monster feat only?

whelp. I’ve got all my major questions answered. time to write it all up and see if it all fits together.

If use the components to buy Martial Training, does this mean that I get all related parts of the chain based on my level 5 BAB (i.e. if my BAB is +5, I will get both Martial Training 1 & 2?)

What i really want to know is this; can spells affect fetuses, say my level 12 paladin is pregnant and casts a buffing spell on herself or the enemy casts a negative spell does it also affect the fetus

this is important, angelpalm have you taken this into account

I dare say it would. Though, I question how your Paladin is pregnant, but yet has not fallen from grace.

That’s a god I want to follow.

Yes, and take note of the changed recovery mechanic. If you want to check out one of those playtest archetypes I posted as well you are free to use those as well. Just remember I already made fighter/monk/rogue-ninja full initiator classes now.

If the spell descriptor says it can affect more than one creature at a time then yes. Also if it is a touch spell and you are both connected then it would affect both of you as well. Now if it was some single mental effect type spell, well the fetus probably wouldn’t have to worry. I would rule that spells that require will saves have no effect. Fuck it would suck to have your level drained when you are already like a level 0 character.

Can I get a ruling on this weapon property , whether it is legal or not in this game.

This seems really broken in the hands of a cleric based character. Especially during combat manuevers.
See the FAQ/errata blurb on this page for weapon finesse
http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/weapon-finesse-combat---final

So a cleric could dump strength and dex, pump wis, and still have bonuses on attack/damage, and bonuses to CMD trip/disarm when using the guided weapon.

And it isn’t a feat!

Fetus has a constitution score of 0 since it cannot live outside of the mother. Assuming some magical means of that happening, it has no consciousness, giving it an effective intelligence score of 0. You could increase the ability score with magic, but why?

For a serious explanation… A fetus would be considered grappled by the confines of the womb. I don’t even know if I would allow a separate Reflex save for a fetus. Maybe Fortitude.

If a pregnant character was affected by something non-magical in nature, like poison, then I would say that the fetus is also affects, perhaps some rounds later if the poison is not purged quickly enough.

A pregnant character would be interesting in some games, but kinda pointless in this one. That said, I wouldn’t mind running a “Protect the heir” style game. Actually sounds fun.

You get shoe horned into using the crappiest fighting styles, either sword in board or just a single one handed weapon since it doesn’t work well for two handed weapons or two weapon fighting. A could see a monk getting more mileage since they don’t make off hand attacks but it seems risky. So yeah I will allow it.

Fuck a character creation guide. It’s taking too long to make.

Just PM me if you need help making your character.

Hit me up now before I go back to work tomorrow.

You might as well just pump STR and WIS if you want to be a punchy cleric. Put those feats into useful shit like Furious Focus and buffing your melee.

@angelpalm, can we make weapons that are normally wooden out of metal (eg spears, staves, flails) and shit? Normal item creation explicitly say you can’t make a mostly wooden item out of metal, but…c’mon…it’s just a piece of metal.

Always wanted to get into something like DnD, I’ll give it a shot whenever you guys are ready.

Why would anyone make a guide when everything is literally already linked in the first post.

http://www.d20pfsrd.com/

Naw man, it would increase the weight by too much and throw of the balance. Unless it was made out of some special metal like mithral, I would say no. There was a feat that allowed you to use heavy weapons in 3.5 that made them do damage of a weapon one size larger, but we aren’t gonna use stuff like for now. Also this spell right here would fuck your day.

And that wisdom to hit/dmg is an actual weapon enchant, not feat. Which means if you no longer posses the weapon…

I am getting it ready, just need participants.

Use http://www.myth-weavers.com/ so you can make a character sheet.

Already a little lost. The traits link has a couple of different categories for traits. Do I just pick from one specific category?

Pick whatever you like so long as it isn’t the same trait twice.

Traits are fucking HUGE. There’s so many of them. I suggest you only look at the ones that are relevant to your character. L:Ike if you’re a caster, then stick to the magic ones. I’m trying to read all of them, but…
