Reading through all of this shit, trying to fire up my D&D knowledge that has been happily rusting away since Icewind Dale 2.

This shit is getting like homework.

It’s only because this is the Super Saiyan 3 of homebrewing.

If I had to sum up, the most important things to do are:

  1. Figure out a way or theme for how you want to be bad-ass.
  2. Pick two classes that will let you do that.
  3. Build your race (use some of those component points to go crazy here by upping your point-buy and race points)
  4. Set up your classes.
  5. Spend your 6000 gold.

I’m in the middle of doing up a sample sheet - maybe it will help people (as long as everything on there is correct)

Am actually skuppered at stage 5 on your list Wasted lol, that and am not really too bothered about my class as I expect to job but, trying to figure out if there is any way not to use spellcasting and not get completely crushed by a spell caster. Cause fuck spell casters they already too OP.

That’s why the component system is in place. It just plain cost more to get classes like oracle or witch and good old wizard and codzillas. By the time you pay for that you won’t be able to afford the extras. This will hopefully balance it out until they start throwing 7th level and above spells around…

You guys aren’t having any trouble with the race creation part are you?

Gonna post up an example character for people to follow.

Spell casters ain’t OP. All about that Improved Evasion and high saves.

This is way simpler than what I’m working on. It will be done once these Windows boxes here at work stop rebooting randomly…

Lol unless of course your average magus hits you with that shocking grasp combo that can do something along the lines of 20d6 damage on a crit at like level 5(hint hint) with no save. And they aren’t even full casters.

also @wasted you can add any number of classes you can afford. Just remember most of the regular if not all the full bab classes are 1 component. Anything that has at least 6th level spells is two, and anything that gets above that like your average wizard is 3.

Also take note, the max components you can have are 10. That is after taking on any of the restrictions that are outlined under gaining additional components. If you choose not to use those then you have 8 to work with.

That’s why I always have ShocksBacksies cast on me!

BTW, I’m going to use an old class combo I had a while back. This shit’s gonna be leet as fuck. Nevermind. I forgot this shit is Pathfinder and not D&D.

We do get feats every 3 levels right?

Pathfinder is feats every second level (1,3,5,7, etc). The best thing about the system compared to 3.5, IMO.

@angelpalm Yeah, you can cram other classes in using component points, but two is confusing enough for some, it seems.

You have to be logged in to see that.

wtf, I’ll wait, then. I made it public. I’ll do my real character at Myth-Weavers of course.

I was thinking that perhaps we should limit feats and classes to SRD classes only. It gets confusing looking all over the place for feats, prestige classes and variant rules when you don’t know where to look and it results in you feeling powerless in comparison to those who chose from a variety of sources.

To be fair, most of the best stuff is in the SRD anyway, including shit like the hybrid classes, variant rules/racial features, etc. And you can find all this stuff on D20PFSRD anyway.

I wouldn’t try to make this more complex than it already is, IMO.

Yeah everything is only the srd stuff and dreamscarred press material. I just added a little bit of dreamscarred press’s material they are going to release in Path of War Expanded.

The magus shocking grasp thing broke my head until i read this.

So if they want the crit confirm stuff they still need to hit your regular armor and not just the Touch AC, which is slightly better. Still scary to take maximized touch attacks from a melee character.

I cast Silence on myself and punch you in the dick when you enter that 20ft radius where you can’t use verbal components.

Better have Silent Spell, gg.

Maximized spells can’t be cast til level 10 for a Magus anyway, so it’s a fair way away before that can happen.

Yeah I saw that right before I got interrupted with some do-gooder paladin (A.K.A. Admin of a useless system no one cares about at work) coming in to appear useful.

Nice work so far, @Angelpalm. This looks promising and fun.

Fractional saves are still losing me. How does the Ranger/Druid in the example have +2.5 in all saves at level 1?

Also, that progression is written for 3.5, maybe I’m missing something?

Because good saves get .5 per level. With the exception being the second level where they would get 1.

If you look at it it’s basically what they normally get, except now you don’t get penalized for multiclassing into something that would normally give you no save at that point.
