Does anyone have problem with meaty F+MK OS U2?
it seems that if the meaty is block, and i tried to combo CLP, SHK MGB, Super will comes out ( 90% ) the moment i press CLP.
can some pros give some advice on this?
this is of course done in training mode where EX bar is always fill.
if its in real match up and the Super comes out…it will be terrible…
i wrote a thread about this some time ago asking for feedback, but everyone ignored it.The name is “dudley: punishing backdashes”
just read the thread of urs. seems like its still a ? on it.
thirty four gave quite a good answer to it though. F+MK, MK+HP, MK+HP.
100 dmg is good enough rather then opponent getting away with free lunch.
it’s those little dmg that counts to win the game.
no fool will stand there and let u combo free for nothing.
You just have to do the inital motion really quickly. So it’s Towards + MK, 2 X QCF + 3K, cr.LP…
Look at your inputs in training mode, you must be doing something wrong.
Here’s my video of it (although the inputs shown are Ryu’s inputs, not Dudley’s).

This thread’s really got me thinking now. I just tried the Meaty fwd.MK, lp.JU option select on Fei Long 2 minutes ago to be completely sure, and it works 100 percent (I tried to press throw as Fei Long aswell to double check it was meaty and got hit), just takes practice and close proximity.
Also I just realised from one of the above posts how great the fwd.MK xx MK xx HP Target Combo is for catching backdashes of over half the cast. Because of the timing of the Target Combo, you don’t even have to add any extra button inputs for it to work. You simply walk up to their body and attempt the target combo, if your timing is right, you’ll st.HP there backdash for a nice 130 damage.
Only problem is the frame data (eventhubs) says you’re at -2 frames after this target combo is blocked, and +1 on hit. This which isn’t great compared to the lp.JU alternative, which rewards harder execution with 10 less points of damage but amazing positioning and momentum.
Although I’ve found it is possible to combo fwd.MK xx MK xx HP, cr.lp, cr.mp xx mp.MGB on M.Bison, so I’m not sure how reliable the Target Combo frame data is at the moment.
Testing, testing, testing is the name of the game it seems.
Hey thanks for the reply. Appreciate the help on this.
Yep. I did some testing on that TC too. No need extra input needed.
Anyway I’m noob with frame date. At -2 after the target combo is block is still unsafe?
-2 is generally safe, the only real things that can punish this being 2-frame reversal Supers: Chun Li, Guile, Ryu, Zangief, T-Hawk. Also, Zangief and T-Hawk can punish with their SPDs.
As a very basic rule of thumb, it’s safe to say anything that, leaves you point blank range and, is -3 or more on block (i.e. can be Shoryukened by Ryu on reversal) is unsafe.
Could someone list the option selects WITH inputs? I’ve been neglecting to learn OS’ because I wanted to focus on building up my fundamentals. Now I’m comfortable enough with that it’s time to dig into OS but because I have no experience with them I don’t even know how to do them. So any help would be greatly appreciated.
well OSing is actually pretty easy if you can input fast. Simple example is safejump j.HP OS HP jet upper. When you input that delayed j.HP, input the HP JU immediately right after, timing feels like a slow plink or like a fast target combo. Thats how I see it.
I swear some Dudley players dont even know how to play the game.
There’s just no helping it.
Cant wait til I get my battery for my laptop so i can get the DASJL;FK FINISHED TUTORIAL ( holy SSHFIAL it’s so much INFO) uploaded.
sdasjlf HYPE!
Because I wanted to build up a strong fundamental game instead of relying on an exploit that chooses your option for you I don’t know how to play the game?
Didn’t you start a thread about a series of videos in which you help the Dudley’s of the world get better? I’m quite sure you did, which makes your statement “There’s just no helping it” seem a bit odd. I hope your actually putting that together to help the community and not just show off. Not saying you are but obviously your attitude is a bit hypocritical of your actions.
Aftermath1349, i understand your point, you’re are learning at your own pace and that’s what everybody needs to do in order to grasp and learn a character. love the old boy avatar by the way, i swear that movie is a work of art.
Thirtyfour, i truly appreciate what you’re trying to bring to the table truly i do. I was using your safe jump setups thanks for those by the way. I can see here that you’re trying to elevate the game of some of the fellow Dudley players who are just starting out or trying to learn something new, but you can’t just say that what you’re doing isn’t helping and that you shouldn’t bother at all.
Take it easy a lot of people appreciate what you’re trying to do and even if only one person learns from you at the end of the day you did what you wanted. Keep it up don’t lose faith.
You can say the same thing about players of any character.
All the more reason to keep at it, IMO.
Agreed. I’m going to have to agree with thirtyfour too because sme of these Dudlay players are just soooooooooo fake. They bitch and moan about how bad Dudley’s defense and wakeup is and they cry because his footsies don’t have range so they want him to have a ryu cr.mk in Duley’s arsenal. Dudley’s so boss.
Dam, why is everyone getting so confrontational ? This arguing won’t help dudleys get better as a whole. Everyone’s side has a point. If a Dudley is lacking a certain skill or knowledge, then other players that are more knowledgeable that are willing to answer him do so. If scrubby Dudleys complaining, thats on them, your not forced to answer or respond which is better than putting them on blast. This arguing is inevitable but at least everyone try to help each other out to make Dudley a higher tier and become more respected.
Whats the “FP” for the option select?
foot pound
seriously

If you’re still having problems with backdash punishing and reversals faster than 6 frames
You simply should not be playing SSF4.
There is simply no helping players that only beg and beg to be taught how to play a character.
The character’s only been out for few months compared to more than half the cast.
Pretty sure the better Dudley players cant teach what they dont know already.
wow where’s salpal
and there’s nothing you can do about someone backdashing to create space in a no pressure situation (ex. full screen
