Dudley Q&A: Let's learn... like Gentlemen!

Watch ThirtyFours tutorial to get the basic idea of how to approach a fight. My three basic steps I usually follow are 1: Get within St HP range or closer, 2: Mixup between High, Low or throw to get a Knockdown and or corner them, and 3: Combo into Ultra or Super to “The End” the round. Before you start worrying about combos and links you have to get close first without jumping too much.

I feel both can be used with equal success, its all about practice and getting used to the way you do your inputs for either pad or Fight stick.

How’s your buffering going.
Are you using c.MP and s.HK correctly?
July’s coming soon and imma release a more detailed tut regarding buffering and how to use it but…
I wanna see if anyone makes progress beforehand

I personally like to walk in and out of the opponents prefered range of attack and bait him into doing something. Facing a Rufus for example I like to whiff normals just outside of his cr.HP range. If he’s silly enough to throw cr.HP out, I’ll punish it with U1. And then you’re in. This is only one aspect of fighting though. If you’re getting rushed down, then this strategy is useless.

Edit: This strategy also should not be used against characters who have a strong zoning game (Dhalsim). Goodluck trying to punish one of his whiffed limbs. =ddd

Ive been practicing it in training mode, im still learning the proper ranges to counterpoke different characters with s.HK and c.MP. Now for the c.MP im only buffering Lp MGB unless CH then Ex… otherwise I just do duck, most of the time on hit but every once in awhile on block to mixup. Am I correct in doing this? I want to make sure im practicing it right before I start applying it in casual matches.

Nah for c.MP just buffer MP MGB
if you’re at the right range (righ outside their farthest mid range poke) you have nothing to worry about

dont LP MGB since you can whiff that on hit at footsy range. (like countering chun’s s.MP with c.MP xx LP MGB you’ll whiff and eat a super)

f.MK, s.LP, s.LP, s.HK xx machine gun
is now my fav combo to do when someone is stunned. so easy to link and does alot of damage. moreso than f.hk,c.lp.s.hk xx machine
cause you dont have to crouch during it.

that’s shit
replace both jabs with s.MP or just do f.MK s.HK xx MGB

I like to f.MK c.LP s.LP f.HK tho

Nevermind, just watched some more and I think I get it, HK/HP fadc on crouching

So is ex duck upper/straight more useful and reliable than late HP. Jet upper for anti air now? Or is it only for really specific distances and jump ins?

I guess what I’m saying is overall is ex duck upper>late HP. jet upper>s. mk the ‘ranks’ of dudleys anti airs?

IF late HP. jet upper is better does it work on every characters jump in or is s.mk the only option in some situations (other than being too close for hp. jet upper)

just use it vs neutral jumps and jump backs in the corner.

Wow that meaty fHK into sHP was sexy

still cant half-circle to the right well. my left hand is retarded.

keep practicing, it will come. trust me.

Sorry for asking something I can just test myself, but I’m at work, and I still haven’t been able to get the timing right to juggle LP jet > EX duck straight.

Can you do s.HK xx LP Jet, EX duck straight, c.HK (and then whatever followups)?

c.Hk isnt possible after the EX duck straight. I even FADC the Ex duck straight and tried it (LOL) but still didnt work. Only ones that worked were Lp MGB, HP Jet up, or either EX duck straight or Upper and of course Ultra 2

EDIT: Try starting with Cr HK then EX duck straight and you can follow up with another Cr HK. Not sure why the juggle properties of the EX straight change that way…

stop giving bad info pls

i already made a video and posted it a while ago
you can EX duck straight x3 c.HK x2 after an EX MGB / c.HK against almost every character
duck straight never changed

But he asked about the s.Hk, Lp. Jet upper into Ex duck straight then cr HK followup not starting with Ex MGB or Cr HK. I already know that EX duck straight x3 c.HK x2 after an EX MGB / c. HK works but I couldnt get the cr HK followup after s.HK, Lp. Jet upper into Ex Duck straight. Either it doesnt work or my timing just sucks idk. If possible please show a video of that combo that he asked.
