Dudley Q&A: Let's learn... like Gentlemen!

lol, really I didn’t do much to come to that number, all I did was Lv 3 focus attack, s.lk when they are considered airborne in the crumple and just set lk onto turbo and see how many came out till the other character got hit. s.lk is 5 on start-up and 10 on recovery. It just so happened that when Ken got hit, it looked like he planted his feet on the ground.

10f recovery on first s.lk, 15f for whiffed s.lk, 5f for start-up of 3rd s.lk

Even so, I don’t even have access to a turbo button.

Has anyone else felt that Jump-in roundhouse doesn’t hit as far vertically as it did in SSF4? I tried Jumping in against Cody’s slide and Viper’s low thunder knuckle and both times I completely whiffed and got hit. I don’t remember if that worked in SSF4 or not, but I was curious if you guys have had similar experiences.

Is the Duck Upper FADC (Juggle) really obsolete? I was just getting to the point that I could do it nearly 95% of the time. I am trying to readjust to using the EX duck follow ups now but I am noticing I can only consistantly hit it on the larger characters (Balrog, Abel, Gouken, Zangief, T, Hawk, etc) but I cant seem to hit it on characters like Ryu or Ken. Should I apply the same logic with EX duck followups as I do with Lk duck to Hp Jet upper?

You have access to both versions, test it in training mode lol.

I need help with frame traps, I’m pretty ass, tend to get more counter hits off of cr jab cr jab rh than stuff (which I thought was tighter) like cr jab cr lk fmk. Is that me messing up timings or just the buttons they’re pressing?

And any OS’ besides anti backdash? All I really use are duck/exmgb buffers during mp/rh

Think I read something by 34 about pushback on TCs, tried it and cr lk cr mp cr hp pushes them way way back, struggling to find a practical use for it though

you should really get some overall experience first.
most questions asked can be solved from 2 minutes of training mode tests or somethin.

There’s tons of options selects for dudley.
character specific mostly, too many to list.

Well thanks, real helpful

Can you help me ? I can’t do a combo in endless battle or ranked mode because i don’t hit with the St.HK and if i touch with other move (Like LP, Cr.lp or other) i don’t see and i don’t continue the combo ! In training, combos work without problem !
Have you a tips ? :frowning:

this is too much
im done wit these boards for good

That’s true, I just wanted to be a little lazy.

Why ? :frowning:

He doesn’t like that people ask questions that have either already been answered in one of the stickied threads or could be answered fairly easily with a little bit of effort from the person asking the question.

But, i’m new and i’m french, so i don’t want look the other 36 pages but i understand his reaction… :frowning:

The best you can do is keep working on your timing in training mode and hope the connection keeps up. When you get to the point that your connection is the only thing holding you back, you need to decide if it’s worth it to you to change your timing to work online.

Personally, I play with other people in person all the time, so if I drop a combo online I just ignore it. But if you’re going to spend the majority of your time playing online, it might be worth it to you to try and adjust your combos to the lag.

And learn to plink!

here ill give u some tips, ur not commiting to ur hitconfirm/blockstrings. If u make contact with the opponent with a jab , whether hit or block, u should be commiting to the string, as in LP, st HK, st. HK is safe on block so just do it. Get ur reactions up on hit confirms so u can maximize damage once u see a hit or counterhit from ur offensive pressure, *learn to Plink the HK(not gunna explain, find on youtube)

ROFL I told you SJ… I told you.

  1. Practice your hit confirm combos. c.lp, c.lp, s.hk xx etc.
  2. Practice until you nail it 75-80% of the time
  3. Play games, Miss the combos like crazy at first. Keep trying to get your timing down.
  4. Probably lose, but you improved and got a feel for it.

Experienced players when it comes to landing combos. We’ve drilled the combo timing into our brains. Our muscles know the timing. Practice until you hate it. I’ve only been in this for a year and I’ve drilled most combos into my head and I can even move to other characters (Ryu, Balrog, Guile etc.) and found that it was easier to land their combos because of my practice with Dudley.

Don’t give up. Keep practicing until it’s burned into your brain.

Good luck Tobi! Represent with class!

Waaah ! Thank you men for your help !
I try it at every battle now ! I know how to plink but i don’t do it online because i don’t think that ! :frowning:
So, i try your boards and i will back in one week !
Again THANK YOU !

Edit : In training, i try to do a duck upper or a duck straight after the EX MGB, but this is not good ! The character is not juggled if it’s not in the corner ! :frowning:

what are you like 15?

I don’t understand… ?
