Incidentally, in response to my initial set of questions about what to learn about Dudley, I found that spamming f+hp and hp OFTEN during matches was an excellent way for me to get a feel for his footsies. Obviously this is a terrible technique to apply in matches against quality players, and you want to avoid developing too many bad habits, but these two fierce punches are so damn good, and it wasn’t until I made a concerted effort to just spam them out that I got a feel for how and when they can be useful, and where they will connect effectively.
Gentlemen -
As much as it pains me to say it… I’ve started to suck. I don’t get enough playtime in these days and it’s getting to me. I’m dropping combos left and right - some due to lag, some because I’m getting a little frantic under the pressure. In training mode, my execution is still top notch. This has only started recently. It’s making me a sad Dudley.
Anyone have any advice to help me better my in-match execution other than “calm the fuck down”?
Easiest way to OS Ultra is to do liverblow and buffer ultra with it when the opponent is waking up. On block or on hit you get liverblow and if they backdash you get ultra.
Whats the “buisness elbow”
j.hk
Question: After a blocked stand RH > lk Duck, does your opponent get a guaranteed throw/dp or are you safe? does anyone know the exact frames?
You’re -3.
sooo…You could tech the throw, EX DP, or backdash right? or would you get thrown out of the startup of backdash? I suppose the only way they could legit punish you is if they were mashing jab/dp hmmm
You can get away with s.hk xx ducking -> cr.lp a lot because it’s pretty fast.
Beware of some grapplers because they will get command grab for free if you do that against them. And while the st. roundhouse xx short duck is -3, most opponents do not know that. You might as well try it and see if your opponent knows what to do.
reversaling a stHK is hard to do on reaction, unless they mash DP preemptively.
Is it worthwhile using EX Cross counter in some kind of OS?
Probably not because it has 3 frames of startup.
EX Cross Counter is beautiful as an OS against Rufus, Balrog and Adon.
Adon? Why Adon?
If you see a Dudley use standing hk in a block string just mash jab. It’s safe.
You would think this would be hard to react to but it’s really not, especially if you understand Dudley’s options at various distances.
Why Rog? Only 3 of his 7 specials can be CC’d (Straight, Upper, Headbutt) and EX CC doesn’t do anything to EX Rush Straight or Upper, Rog still has armor and absorbs it.
CC only works good to bait and punish EX messiah and maybe divekicks but there are alternatives that I think are better.
You don’t get all 3 hits of EX CC if they have armor?
Also does OS EX CC beat EX Messiah?
Dudley passes right through and deals gray damage to Rog. Check it out in training.
EX Messiah isn’t a natural armor breaking move so you can use CC to hit his fat ass for doing EX Messiah on wakeup.
You do get all three hits of EX CC on Rog if you os it. The move you threw out will take the armor away first. You can actually still get hit with the punch after the OS though because of EX CC’s 3 frame start up. Just had it happen in training mode.
You guys are talking about buffering a poke into EX CC OS right?
