You’d be better off using counter hit fierce instead, since they are both 6 frames. Safer and you can link into much more damage.

I’m going to start experimenting with Counter crouching fierce.

I’ve watched a lot of Gamerbee’s matches and I’ve noticed that he uses Adon’s st. FP as a counter hit setup when people are expecting throw. Dudley’s crouching fierce has literally the exact same frame data as Adon’s FP, and leads into a crap load of damage if landed from point blank. I’m talking like 400-500 dmg combo’s, 280 minimum. It’s almost retarded how much damage Dudley can generate from a counter hit cr. fp. I’m going to start experimenting with it in real matches tonight and I’ll let you know guys know how it goes.

Also as an aside, does anyone know Dudley’s best options against C. Viper’s ex ground pound? I’ve been getting caught by it on my opponent’s wake up a lot, and especially when they expect an overhead.

I had that same idea as you except I got it after watching Marlin Pie’s Cammy. He would look like he was going for a tick throw and then throw out Cammy’s crHP. I imagine crHP on CH would make it +6 at least so it would easy to link a sHK after it too.

If they EX ground pound, I try to hit them before it comes out since the invincibility wears off before the attack is active or neutral jump. I stopped trying for mostly overhead when I found out her stupid HP TK had invincibility so I go mostly cr. LK on her wakeup now. I know trading overhead with HP TK is a win for Dudley in damage but getting pushed out that far is annoying.

I get hit by those EX Seimo as well, I don’t know or have any idea. Also, I’ve used Dudley’s fw.fp as a counter hit a lot, and hit confirm with 1 cr.p > st.hk xx EX MGB xx whatever. Does a lot of damage, yet I never did it in training because I found out it can get counter hits by fighting online. I’ve done that on wake-up againt some of the cast, like Bison, other Duds, Honda…(sometimes it trades idk) I’ve seen it do about 400 damage. I’m going to training to do it.

I use kidney blow into cr lk/cr mp. They are -3 on block after kidney blow.
Cr lk comes out in 4. Cr mp comes out in 5.

Midscreen, she will probably dash so it’s the step straight for Viper. I usually mix it up with meaty shorts, neutral jumps and grabs once she stops dashing. It’s rare that I get hit by a wakeup ex seismo.

Why not just use f.mk?

Neutral jump if you predict the EX Seismo, then enjoy your hit-confirmed jump in combo.

Also if you’re good at safe jumping you can do j.hk OS U2 to beat all of her reversals.

Nah, because jet upper will dodge cr.lk’s and is invincible to throws. I know it’s dumb, but I’m lazy and if I know someone likes to tech throws I just want to get my ultra/super.

You can combo off counter-hit s.hp? Into what, cr.lp only?

Wouldn’t you also have to be fairly close to your opponent to link a crouch jab off of counter-hit standing fierce?

Standing fierce after Kidney Blow leaves you fairly close.

Isn’t cr HP is slow enough to hit confirm into sHK off it? fMK too fast, you’d need to link a move between it or go straight into sHK and hope to recognize.

Then do f.mk -> cr.lp -> s.hk. You preserve your mixup opportunities on block which is huge with Dudley. He’s not like Adon where you just do another Jaguar Kick and get back in there. Blocked cr.hp is “Oh shit, now we’re at neutral and shoto cr.mk bodies all my options to get back in.”

I was thinking about using cr. HP a few weeks ago but I never put it into practice. It just seems too slow.

I’ve been using it in my strings every now and then, it leaves you to a more disadvantageous position but oh boy does it stuff well

Not all of his target combos are useless… St.lk,St.mk,St.mp,St.hp cancels into super for some good damage. Super easy hit confirm too.

Most of his target combos are super cancelable.

But that one does some meaty damage as well. I just saw people posting how useless his target combos are, and I disagreed; I always use that target combo into his super.
