If you’re using the target combo to set other combos up, you should be learning the links instead as someone else said. You also gotta watch out for standing fierce due to it’s long recovery especially against players that have far-reaching Focus Attacks. If they focus it you eat a level 2 almost guaranteed. Don’t forget that you can meaty lows for oki and you should do so to keep your opponent guessing between high-low. Don’t sleep on crouch roundhouse if your opponent is in the corner for oki as that will bring the pain if you land it. Finally if you have super, don’t sleep on Rocket Uppercut. Dart Shot xx st. roundhouse xx forward backswing blow xx Rocker Upper is like 500 damage.
I use cr. LK st MK TC if I see they like backdashing on wakeup. Otherwise, it’s cr LK cr LP st HK etc.
Whether or not I hit jab after f. MK or f. HK depends on the moment. I use f. MK in block strings so I’m usually pressing buttons after it to keep pressure or during a stun combo or punish combo where I don’t need to hit confirm with a jab. f. HK I’ll link straight into st HK if I it hit meaty enough, which makes the st HK window bigger.
Backdash catching yeah I agree with, but otherwise that target combo ain’t worth it. Doing crouch jab after liver blow in a blockstring is great because not only does it keep pressure up, but it also gives you frame advantage again.
Don’t forget that target combo beat’s FA’s on wakeup too. It’s a pretty good OS for when your opponent is being cheeky since you can buffer lp mgb safely. Otherwise, fuck target combos.

It must because you want more dmg out of the ultra as opposed to doing two weak attacks to start off…
I only use that tc when doing lp jet to hp jet or to u2. That’s it.
cr.LK > LP > st.HK xx LP Jet Upper doesn’t hit everyone. Following it up with Ultra 2 only works in the corner, and it is very worthwhile doing there.
If you are hit confirming cr.LK > LP > st.HK you are better off going for the EX MGB.

But I think the tc will do more overall raw dmg as opposed to the link.
If dud does not have meter imo it is the quickest way to get off his ultra w out fucking up for good concrete dmg.

Usually when I land Ultra II, I have plenty of time before hand to decide whether or not I want to use it or not. This comes from either a long EX MGB combo, focus crumple or a big punish. I think fishing for ultra/super is a very bad habit to get into.
Yes you can. I tested that specifically. You just need to be inputting the DP motion while hitting :mk:.

Your notation is wrong. cr.lk to cr.lp is a link, as is cr.lp to s.hk. lp jet upper -> ultra 2 is not a cancel either.

That is exactly why you cannot hit confirm it. If you have to be doing the DP motion, how are you going to cancel it into LP MGB for a safe-ish string with chip damage and maintain pressure? It’s rubbish.
You just don’t cancel it if it gets blocked. It’s the frame disadvantage as lp mgb, is harder to react to for the opponent, and leaves you closer.

only c.lk c.mk one is useful, because there is a good OS to it, the rest you use in a show off combo or a really stupid way to hitconfirm into a super… whenever you get the chance c.lp s.hk is the way to go for sure…
oh yeah meaty f.hk > s.mk target combo will cancel abel’s ultra 2 on wakeup (if it hits you just keep doing the normal combo, if he uses the ultra spam s.mk till the animation ends, f.hk gets absorbed but he gets a s.mk counterhit right away).
