The best advice is not to settle for a weaker combo. If you can’t hit his basic links then you need to get into training mode.
It doesn’t matter if dudley is jumping alot or not at all. If he happens to get a jumpin and land a fierce/Rh you should hit confirm into ultra. His jumpins can be nasty and people can often block at the wrong time. It’s not a matter of which direction they are blocking. If you played 3s then you’ll know what I mean.
I was giving answers to a guy who doesn’t own the game. No training mode. I know that you can hit confirm ultras off of jump ins. I was pretty much saying you shouldn’t rely on jump ins to win fights.
I appreciate the feedback everyone. I will be able to hopefully apply some of it today in a few hours at our ranbat. Got to play a few matches once since last posting, only things worthwhile talking bout from it…
-overhead can be FADC’d i found, but based off y’alls feedback, gonna try to work on getting my links down after the overhead.
-Successfully used U1 as AA, but was very strict timing, like using Fuerte’s U1 as AA in Vanilla. Was during match play, so not 100% tested, but my opponent states he thought it was pretty legit.
-Landed U2 after FA as AA in the corner for full animation, thought that was pretty neat, probably common knowledge though.
Guess that’s it for now, gonna try to catch the stream tonight, was crazy fun watching yesterday!
I’m not in a position to verify if this will always happen but recently I performed a Cross Counter against a Rufus, characters were pretty much touching, Rufus went for a c.fp, after it connected and the cross counter activated Rufus popped over to the other side of the screen and the Cross Counted whiffed. Pretty much the reverse of what happens when you connect many Ultras on Sim’s extended arm.
I was just wondering if Dudleys cross up is character specific?
I can do it easily on Hakan, also occasionally on Guiles (I’m trying to stuff a flash kick and he doesn’t do anything and i end up on the other side) and rarely on Juri’s
All of the above mentioned jump-ins are with j.HK
I was in training made and tried to find a crossup setup on Ryu with point blank jab hit then another block then jumping lk. this was 50/50 but wasn’t able to replicate it online with a friend ever.
there’s an example of the crossup on Juri by Marn from EVO

Is there any known setups for those? I looked briefly in this thread but i must have missed it
Hey people, looking for a little newbie advice here… and didn’t want to make a new thread in fear of salpal…
Anyway… question I suppose is on spacing…
I’ve spent ages in training getting my B&B’s down, I’ve got a pretty good success rate (about 60-70%, apart from Cr.HP to St.Hk counter hit. But thats just me). However, when i get into a match (online/local or even vs the cpu), I never seem to be able to get into an offensive position to actually use them… I mostly find myself punishing random SRK’s or ducking projectiles…
Now I know “how to get in” is a really broad question. But any pointers would be hugely helpful as im trying my hardest not to jump in constantly, I eat to many AA SRK to ultras.
Thanks in advanced.
P.s. any UK dudley on XBL, grab me for an endless whenever.
I used to have the “getting hit by anti-air” problem as did many people. Almost everyone does, actually. Don’t jump to move forward unless it’s to jump over a slow attack or fireball when you KNOW the opponent can’t recover in time. I’m not a master Dudley, but I pretty much just gradually move forward the whole match on ground. Unless I’m forgetting what I normally do, the best ways to move forward besides walking and dashing are ducking and f.hp.
The reason you’re not getting in a position to start doing some combos is probably because of the jumping. If you find yourself in a match we’re you’re mostly just punishing shoto specials, then you really don’t need to go on the offensive. It’s not really going to improve your game to fight these guys, but it’s better to just block and retaliate with most of “those.”
Having trouble performing Dudley’s d.hk after his machine gun punches or off standard combos as okieme. Any advice? I tried doing it really quick when character lands and a bit late yet it never seems to hit them?
IM sorta new to this but I was wondering if anyone had some tips on accomplishing Dudleys thunderbolt properly, as of right now its the only move of his I cannot do at all.
