Dudley Changes in Arcade Release(updated1stpost)

Dudley’s changes give him one thing to do when he isn’t in and the rest help him stay in. That just solidifies Dudley wants to stay in and be nowhere else.

Guile lost damage and meter build from chucking booms. Honestly, him throwing an EX boom at the wrong range helped Dudley lol. Now he has less chances of getting the 2 meters for a flash kick FADC or the 3 he needs for EX FK FADC (awesome). Lower damage on F+Fierce means we can get hit once more, doesn’t change the move keeping us out. Matchup is going to take longer to lose, 1 or 2 more chances to mount a comeback.

Rog got nerfed where? Less damage on headbutt? This match up isn’t changing much.

Unless Sim loses his stretch, the match up is the same. We can get hit like 1-2 more times before dying trying to get in. I’m happy that his Super does less damage personally since I ran into way too many times. Either matchup more or less the same, Dudley survives a hit longer thanks to damage nerfs to Sim.

Chun df+LK and lower stun on sweep is not significant.

it’s SPD punishable on block

f.hp is not SPD punishable on block if it is the proper distance. It hits meaty if it hits from max-ish distance. This is why you can do f.hp -> s.hk xx EX MGB on non-counterhit.

What else, classic third strike stuff, you pull 2 f.mk one after another as a great frame trap, a big counterhit gets in and you can even hit confirm it into a combo…

And with the c.lp > f.mk will give some great looping on block strings

One of the many stuff I wanted was a better f.mp, people still not using it, but it might be a sweet surprise just like f.mk…

Hm? That’s not what I read. I forgot where but it was said that, character select is blind until both people pick, and then you can see your opponent during Ultra select but you can’t see what Ultra your opponent picks.

How do you think the new Rose vs Dudley mu is? since ultra 2 has been nerfed.

The orbs stay if you hit her during U2 recovery. You’ll trade if you meaty her during wake up U2 if the move doesn’t recover fast so take that as you will.

I assume Ken’s toward+forward kick is a mid attack? If so EX-Duck doesn’t go through it as can be seen in this video:

Is it me or does in that vid cr.mk look faster?You can judge by the animation, and how it looks when in hits.In SSF4, if you look closley (by pausing during the startup) at cr.mk, you will see that a couple of frames, the punch is at their feet, and it should be snatching them, but it’s not active yet.Cr.hk has the same problem.He is literally with his hands through their feet, but it isn’t active yet.It’s something VERY stupid to make a move have slower startup than it’s actual animation,and i REALLY hope this has been fixed in arcade edition.My guess it’s that during beta Dudley version, he had a faster cr.hk and cr.mk but they decided to nerf them, by increasing the startup, and letting the animations unchanged, because it makes no sense otherwise.I mean it just looks so damn odd havind the framedata not match the animation.Try it yourself and see.

I think cr.hk may have gotten less recovery frames if sweep x3 really is easier.I just hope cr.hk has faster startup so it can combo from a jumpin so that they finally remove the STUPID, and i MEAN STUPID, probably the MOST STUPID restriction in the game, the fac tthat dudley has the lowest hitstun on his jumping hard attacks.They did that so J.HK/J.HP don’t combo non CH into sweep, but COME ON.You wouldn’t even want to do that, as there are a lot of other comboes that deal greater damge, which start with f.mk.Ever jumped on somebody with J.hk, they blocked, and mashed srk, and you were like WTF i was blocking but got hit?Yea, that’s right, you get PUNSIHED for a blocked jumping HARD attack.Why?Because of the sweep.I’d much rather have it 20 frames to remove the problem of comboing into it altogether, just so J.hk ~ cr.jab would be a damn blockstring (i mean in non deep jumpins situations).There are jumping medium attack that deal more hitstun that Dudley’s jumping hard attacks, and that is ridiculous.
You stun the opponent, you wanna do j.HK ~ f.mk ~ st.hk whatever, but WHOOPS, they block your f.mk.Thank your sweep for that.What?Got DP’ed between you J.hk and a cr.jab?Thank the sweep.You get SPD’ed even after LANDING a jumpin hard attack and holding up specially for avoiding a grab?You guessed it, sweep’s fault.Meanwhile, CH J.fierce with ryu is like +19, and air attacks like cammy’s EX cannon strike are +18 on hit.
As for what move’s fault is, I am pretty sure it must be sweep.It could be the overhead, but it seems way to specific to be anything else other than sweep.I mean, Dudley is +13(i am pretty sure he is, if not 13, then 12) after the deepest jumpin, whilst sweep has 14 frames startup.Just think about it.
I got gibbed too many times in matches due to Dudley’s jumping hard attack having the lowest hitstun in the game.

IMO they didn’t change the Dudley Scoop, it’s still feels like a one framer to me. EX MGB, Scoop x 2 in the corner isn’t easier either.

They might have changed the carpet yank sweep but if so not by much, I tried several times to combo a stand jab into cr.mk with little avail but in honesty I didn’t attempt to plink the move.

I can confirm that juggling a close Ducking Straight will combo into EX Ducking Upper which by logic means that EX Ducking Upper is at least as fast as U2. Although I havn’t tested it I think it punishes Honda’s Headbutt and shoto sweeps based on that information.

EX Duck is going to be beneficial in respect to several match ups no matter which Ultra you use.

EX Ducking Upper is faster than U2.
