ok, first up. The Rose taunt rumour is BS. Nothing changed, I tried it after a throw in the corner and the opponent woke up in time to hit with cr.forward.

As for EX duck I will test it out tomorrow as extensively as I can manage if it’s not busy. The games are expensive so bear with me.

Well i don’t think there’s much else to be tested except EX duck.It’s the biggest change, and has absurd potential if the dev blog didn’t lie. What’s different with cr.mk though?Is it faster or anything?I think they also said they changed something regarding forward medium punch.

Wait, I’m watching the videos and it seems like people are landing Ultra 2 from a Jet Upper that looks like it’s a stronger version than the lp version…

(there’s a stream that comes out and I don’t remember lp jet upper having this)

Have I always been able to do this?

Also, can I actually combo into cr. mk now?

But, yeah… have not been totally up to date, so I might as well ask.

I tried to combo the cr.mk earlier and couldn’t do it from standing jab. Maybe it’s very tight, it doesn’t feel possible to me and my execution is decent.

Cr mk should not combo unless it’s a deep jump in.
It’s still 10 frames start up as far as I know.

Did crHK seem faster?

Did ex mgb crHK x2 work on anyone it whiffs on in SSF4?

Try:

  • Punishment. Honda Headbutt, Rose Spiral, etc.
  • Combos. Cr.LK, cr.LP, Stand HK xx EX Empty Duck, cr.LP… whatever. Perhaps the duck is fast enough to allow for combos that required an FADC duck for just one meter now? If it does, a combo like Jump HP, cr.HP, Stand HK xx EX Empty Duck, cr.LP, cr.LP, Stand HK xx Jet Upper would be BRUTAL.
  • Option Select. Try against Rose / Chun Meaty Jump HP OS EX Duck Straight.
  • EX Empty Duck as Anti-air, Corkscrew Cross as an anti-air, 3S style.

Those are some initial ideas to toy about with.

i was hoping c.mk would combo to set up easier wakeup game… i guess not… i guess it’s only usefull as a counter poke since supposedly all it got was more frames.

Maybe someone should try it as an Anti air… it does have juggle properties.

Also try C.HK as an Anti air as well…

Did f.mk get any changes? Or is it the same, does Slip jab still not combo to jab.

I saw he getting a counterhit with a c.jab f.mp against a spamming c.jab zangief, seriously, I’m putting a lot of faith in the new f.mp.

I’ll take a camera today and test the EX duck implications and maybe record a random match or two :wgrin:

Someone please test Rolling Thunder to see if it got increased startup. I’m hoping (not really) EX HB just recovers a frame faster than in Super and not RT gettin more startup.

I wish my PS3 wasn’t dead.

Someone tell me if Blanka’s crHK can get punished by reversal Ultra 1.
If it is, someone test it in AE to see if it still works. That will tell us if Ultra 1 changed or EX HB got safer.

Guy’s here are some testing notes on EX duck.

  1. St.HK xx EX Duck does not give enough advantage to combo afterwards. You still have to FADC the Ducking Uppers to extend your combos.

  2. Cr.HK, Cr. Hk, EX Ducking Upper to Ultra 2 works in the corner, however this only does 6 hits (tested on Dhalsim) so the damage isn’t worth it. I didn’t get a chance to test 3 scoops. Corner only. Only the second hit of EX Ducking Upper hits.

  3. Lp Jet Upper to EX Ducking Upper works! However the timing is either very tight or it’s character specific.

  4. EX Ducking Straight into Ultra 2 is 7 Hits every time.

  5. EX Ducking Upper into Ultra 2 is 5 hits every time. Corner only.

  6. Empty EX Duck to anti-air Ultra 2 is practical however I’ve yet to get Ultra 2 to auto correct (Due to lack of opportunity honestly)

I havn’t tested the punishment stuff yet because everyone here refuses to play character other than their mains and the twins. I’ll keep you posted.

Please tell me headbutt recovery is better and they didnt touch our rolling thunder…

Guys I have had reversal rolling thunder fail to hit EX headbutts recovery in regular super before.

I think its a distance thing. Like if ex headbutt hits later than it normally does you might not be able to reversal it.

Holy balls, that setup did great damage. Adon’s health depleted like crazy.
