Dudley Changes in Arcade Release(updated1stpost)

im assuming the dudley question was asked before dudley’s blog because they asked about the moves they specified the most.

I’d like to know more about if there is any changes to C.HK, STANDING MEDIUM PUNCH, HP(+F) AND SLIP JAB. And ofcoarse to any moves such as short swing blow or thunderbolt.

Who ask these questions? and where do you ask them? Maybe someone should ask =/

The questions are from the dev blog. What they’ve been doing has been taking questions posted in the comments from each blog post, and answering them in the next one. So last week they posted about Sagat, Dan, Dudley…people posted questions in the comments, and they addressed them this week.

Canceling has nothing to do with the hitstun of the move

LK duck is 20 frames total, sHK is 4 frames so that means the CH sHK has 24 frames of hitstun if hit on the first frame. Cancel into LK duck, you are left with 4 frames to link the 2nd sHK.

If recovery of sHK is reduced 3 frames (-3 on block, 3 less frames of recovery makes it 0) and the frame advantage on hit remains the same (+2 on hit, instead of the +5 with recovery reduced by 3 frames), then there was either no change to the sHK recovery on hit or lowered the hitstun (21 frames on CH, 19 on normal hit).

Of course, I’m not sure what that means, like I said. If they did, sHK LK Duck will be -1 on hit instead of +2. I really hope they didn’t lower the hitstun.

If they fucked up our st.HK counter hit set ups, I am personally going to kill someone. Why would you ever EVER make st.HK safe on block when no one in this universe can hit confirm a single st.HK into a special?

I hope they just added extra frames to the block stun. Reducing its hit stun by 3 would be assinine.

st.HK xx LK Duck is already a free SRK or 3 frame jab on block, why make it even worse?

That is unless st.HK has so much newly added reach that you can combo st.HK into st.HK on Counter hit. Which I can’t see happening.

What’s all this st.HK talk about? Isn’t it pretty obvious that st.HK just does more block stun? Everything else about it is exactly the same.

In SF4 system, the hitstun and block stun are separate values.

sounds like it’s used for frame traps such as… if its now 0 on block and if arcadia magazine for f-mk startup is faster then it should look like this.

jab jab s.hk f.mp

instead of
jab jab -forward mk etc.
jab jab hk xx duck jab

I would imagine they would have reduced the hitstun by 3 frames to account for the st.HK recovering 3 frames faster, but I’m still not convinced that they didn’t just increase the blockstun. I’m taking all translations with a few grains.

Azrael, if you get a chance, could you look at the Arcadia mag notes for Dudley again that leaked. I keep seeing different translations of it and apparently other people have too (mostly on the part saying fMK or fMP). Could you lay it to rest?

So many of those changes are so good imo.

Air to air roundhouse slam down into a mix up? Fantastic. Increased range on overhead? Really great, maybe no more risking getting hit with crouch tech in some match ups if you stuff up your timing. Less recovery on roundhouse? So nice, OS EX MGB will be more practical now. F+MP frame change and hitbox buff is win on several levels.

A new move as well, which seems really good based on what people have seen/said.

I’m looking forward to Dudley in SSFIV AE. He’s already a lot of fun now, but with these additions he might feel a lot more complete.

so i was thinking… if c.mk got more active frames and maybe some other changes could it be a good move for AA.

When u use C.mk on an air opponent it will put them in juggle state allowing u to either do Ultra 2, MGB, or DUCK/UPPER/STRAIGHT 190 damage

With more active frames maybe it would be a good AA with weird hitboxes.

Also good when u move under jumping opponent and do c.mk before hey land.
unfortunately the hitbox will get hit by those timed cross ups (ryu) so maybe if they changed the hitbox too hitbox on top as well here’s hoping…but maybe not.

so they nerfed our standing heavy punch according to thirtyfour… 80 at tip and 120 at base?

So i live in texas and UFO is confirmed to be getting a cab as i heard planet zero is getting it as well but so far it's just a rumor.

I'll probably blow a few losses on trying new stuff....anyone gonna do the same?
Who has access to an arcade that's getting AE?

i'm sure NY and Cali are gonna be getting those cabs too.

Perhaps we can exchange some ideas to try.
