Having st. RH be 0 on block… does that mean canceling into empty ducking will put Dudley at fewer minus frames?

doubtful because you’re canceling the roundhouse either way into a 30 frame move so s.rh’s decreased block disadvantage shouldnt be a factor

I was secretly hoping that the damage or recovery on st.fierce would be nerfed. Its too easy to rely on it as a crutch.

I’m pretty certain it will be even. St.RH is -3 on block, but since you’re cancelling the recovery of st.RH into ducking, you’re replacing the recovery with the ducking animation.

St.RH is -3 on block, but so is st.RH xx lk.Ducking, so if st.RH is now 0 on block, st.RH xx lk.Ducking should also be even.

The dev blog said recovery is reduced but remains the same on hit.
"s.HK’s recovery is reduced. While the situation doesn’t change on hit, frame advantage is 0 on block, so the risk is reduced and therefore it’s easier to utilize."
It didn’t say extra blockstun or LK Duck was sped up which would be the only ways sRH xx LK Duck could be 0 on block.

Kind of cool and weird that they can set the recovery different for whiff, block and hit. At least I hope that’s what they mean and not reduce sHK hitstun.

I blow up Dudleys that try to zone with it all the time ( in ranked matches)
It’s not a problem at all for characters with decent forward dashes either.
Anyone that thinks f.HP needed a nerf obviously has no experience vs good players.(ones that adapt/think. I’m not talking about PP/BP lol)

This is great news for any tourney dudleys. All match ups where he was dominated by low pokes are now neutral. Cr mk being 5 frames is crazy. I was hoping for it to be 7 frames like 3rd strike.
Ultra 2 will most likely be the choice regardless of matchup save Honda. You can now punish fbs with ex duck into u2 or combo into u2.If all of this is true and his damage output isn’t nerfed he will be top tier or near it.

Lets not get crazy here, the changes are going to help A BIT on his ground game. He will still get dominated at footsies.

Most Dudley players evolved onto Ultra 1 and use Ultra 2 for specific match ups. Why would you prefer U2 over U1 to punish fireballs? U1 punishes everything U2 does and then some because of the 1/3 screen it goes forward. You can punish Blanka balls and Rufus’s crHP on hit and block with U1, punish SRK FADC backdash, Flash Kick FADC backdash, soooo much. And going straight into Ultra off a stun, U1 does more damage and better position for oki.

And it said you can cancel into duck follow ups in 3 frames, they didn’t say how much faster EX duck is or the distance it traveled.

crMK has 5 ACTIVE frames, not 5 frames of start up. Arcadia changes seem to mention a few things Dev Blog didn’t which I’m not sure is true or a mistranslation.

The only reason I’d use u1 was for shotos, guile, and Honda. Everyone else I’ve been fine with working my way inside.

If the rumors are true about shoto cr mk losing active frames then 5 active on cr mk is a big deal for us.

Ryu crMK is confirmed to lose active frames. Probably bumped down from 5 to 4 to be like Ken’s crMK, Akuma’s crMK is 3. I’m hoping the extra active frames on Dudley’s crMK are at the beginning.

Yeah, I don’t see how the changes are going to help with something like shoto low forward (ignoring the changes made to shoto low forward). Ultimately we have to just wait and see.

I still use U2. My experiences are that within U1 range, most fireballers aren’t going to throw that fireball anyway, because Dudley can also duck under it. Even if he doesn’t get there in time to punish, it’s still a lot closer than they want him, so they’re going to switch to low pokes, and FA if Duds has been F.FP heavy.

Dudley has below average footsies. He is only effective up close. I thought that was easily understood.
I don’t need u1 to punish block or whiffed moves. I use his limited footsies to get in.

I rather punish with hp mgb. The timing isn’t as tricky, it does decent damage, and it closes the distance without leaving me open.
